“chives” flower

Good morning!  So nice to wake up after a long peaceful sleep.  I must try that sometime.  Really does sound like it would be fun.  Anyway, it’s another nice day to enjoy…and it’s mid week so…Happy Wednesday everyone!  Muffin wanted breakfast bright and early this morning.  Well, it wasn’t too bright, it was still dark.  Very dark.  Like half way through the night kind of dark.  Sigh.  I knew she didn’t eat a big enough bedtime snack. So why do I give in, get up and feed her?  Because I would like to sleep some more.  And she will play, quite noisily, until I get up.  Right by the bedroom door.  If that doesn’t work, then she tries the “pouncing on Steve” routine.  That works every time.

So now we are ready to enjoy some more sunny summer flowers…

And talk about a bright sunny yellow, here we have an “Iceland poppy” which is a beautiful spring and early summer flower.  However, they will sometimes bloom all summer.  This is just one of several different colors of these poppies.IMG_5324

And here we have once again the lavender “phlox”.  A very nice garden flower that is enjoyed by bees and butterflies.  It’s also very easy to grow.

There we have it for today, I hope all of you have a wonderful day and God bless!

Nature’s Art #11.

Hello everyone! As I sit here typing I can see out the window, it’s a cloudy day once again, but mild also.  There are beautiful snowflakes falling gently again, just like yesterday.  Just a few birds out there, some sitting in the bushes, some at the feeder. Just the tiniest birds out there right now, the chickadees, nuthatches and goldfinches.  All getting their turn at the food supplied to them.  Muffin is in the window watching, but not too interested though.  She’s eating her grass right now, for her the most interesting thing at the moment.  Now if the squirrel was here, that would definitely get Muffin excited.  Squirrels and chipmunks are her favorite.  Though birds will excite her if they come close to the window, but they stay over at the feeders and that’s 6.5 feet (about 2 meters) away.

And now for today’s art in nature to enjoy…

I like taking pics of the mushrooms from underneath as the sun hits them from above.  This one is a tan colored mushroom about 3 inches (about 7.5cm) across.  I don’t know the name however, but I doubt it’s on the edible list.IMG_8266

These mushrooms actually felt like a fuzzy peach and about the same size.  They do open completely flat topped however and about 4 to 5 inches (10 to 12.5cm) across.

There is our picks of art in nature for today, I hope you enjoy looking at these different mushrooms and hopefully I can start showing some with names soon.  Have a wonderful day and God bless!
