MURPHY’s TECHNOLOGY LAWS
Part 1
Murphy’s Technology Law #1: You can never tell which way the train went by looking at the track.
Murphy’s Technology Law #2: Logic is a systematic method of coming to the wrong conclusion with confidence.
Murphy’s Technology Law #3: Technology is dominated by those who manage what they do not understand.
Murphy’s Technology Law #4: If builders built buildings the way programmers wrote programs, then the first woodpecker that came along would destroy civilization.
Murphy’s Technology Law #5: An expert is one who knows more and more about less and less until he/she knows absolutely everything about nothing.
Murphy’s Technology Law #6: Tell a man there are 300 billion stars in the universe, and he’ll believe you. Tell him a bench has wet paint on it, and he’ll have to touch to be sure.
Murphy’s Technology Law #7: All great discoveries are made by mistake.

Hi everyone and Happy National Cat Day! Also sometimes called Cat Appreciation Day, however, this is actually on August 8. I thought the two days were the same day but the two days are actually two days and not one day like I thought they were which means they are not the same day at all but different days. Almost got myself mixed up on that one.
For those of you who prefer dogs to cats (there are people like that??🙀), there is a day for dogs too. But, since Muffin is a cat, we celebrate National Cat Day around here. And not just because I like cats, but for safety reasons and I’m low on bandages. I got Muffin some new treats which she really loves. It was such a nice day yesterday with the sun shining most of the time and very nice and mild, at least for this time of year.

Leaves scattered on the road.
Today the high temperature is quite a bit less than it was yesterday at just 45F (7C). Tomorrow’s high is only supposed to be 38F (3C), which is a bit on the chilly side. One night it’s going down to just 18F (-8C). However, it is that time of year to expect these temperature changes. Hmm, the clouds are breaking up and the sun is shining right now, partly at least.

Colored leaves against the brilliant blue sky with some wispy clouds.
Yesterday I saw a lot of gulls flying around out here and today I haven’t seen even one. Soon they will be gone too. There are still a few stragglers of summer birds around, though not very many now. It will be at least 6 or 7 months before they begin returning, even longer than that for some of them. There are a handful of species that will return in just 5 months time.
It seems like they were just returning a short time ago and now they are gone. People were just planting flowers a short time ago it seems and now gardens are empty. Now everything goes to “sleep” to refresh itself for next year’s growth and beauty.

Look close and you can see the leaves blowing around in the wind.
Soon there will be another beauty covering the landscape with the whiteness of winter. Each season has its own beauty. Muffin is napping right now, all that running around earlier got her tired. Have a great day everyone and God bless!
Steve and Muffin.
