For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Kat got here and some of her team settled in the hotel next to the one where Angelica is staying with us. Then they changed the girls that would be staying there as well into women that not even Angelica would recognize. Those girls will be posing as a group hiking across S. America. Baldwin got Matt and his Knight Riders booked into another hotel just a block away from the girls so they can help quickly if needed.
That evening Kat, Pacca, Galyna, Tracy and Alizea went over to Angelica’s hotel and sat down in the bar since that was the only place open in the evening. Kat then tried to communicate with Jennifer using their new method, something that cannot be detected. Sure enough, Jennifer answered and the two talked. The rest of us are drugged using some sort of gas, but it wears off so it needs to be redone twice a day.
Sky and Steve have been taken out 3 times so far, and apparently are receiving instructions for something, but Jennifer did not know what it was, and neither Sky, nor myself, are willing to talk about it. She said to tell Annelie to check and see if there is something important happening in the next couple of weeks. She also said that I keep fainting still and Angelica asked why, so she obviously has nothing to do with that, it is someone else.
She also said that Carolyn is definitely here too and so is Reggie. Someone else is here too, but she has not seen her or heard her name, only that it is another woman. That would make sense since Angelica hates men terribly. The only reason she keeps Reggie around is because he is so good at what he does, being a sniper, and a hit man. She also told Kat that Angelica knows about the girls on the 19th floor, so they better get out soon or they will be drugged tonight as well.
Kat called the girls right away and told them to pack up and leave, NOW. They moved quickly but once in the hall there were 6 armed men blocking the elevators and the stairs. Meanwhile, back to Kat and the girls downstairs. “Kat,” said Tracy, “that girl over there, she is Angel!” Kat looked and could not believe her eyes, it sure did look like Angel. But, Angel has been dead for a long time now and she is buried in our own cemetery. It just does not make sense. “Maybe it just looks like her,” said Alizea.
“Either way,” said Kat, “if Angelica spotted her, she would be in trouble, so we must get her out of here.” Tracy and Galyna went over to Angel and sat at her table. “Hi Angel,” said Tracy, “remember us?” Angel had obviously been drinking, a lot, and was now drunk. She frowned a bit. “Tr, Trace?” she asked slowly. “Yes, it is me,” said Tracy cheerfully, “what are you doing here?” She held up her glass. A waiter came and filled it up.
“That is your last one Miss Johnson,” he said, “then you will have to leave. Are you friends of Miss Johnson?” “Yes, we have known each other for a long time,” said Galyna, “but we lost track of each other a while back. So odd to find her here.” “I have her suitcase over there,” he said, “I am not really supposed to give it back to her since she has not paid her bill for a week. The manager told her today that she must leave. If you will take her out of here, I will give her suitcase back.”
“We will take her with us right away,” said Tracy, saddened to see Angel like this, “come with us Angel, we’ll take you back to our hotel.” She mumbled something and touched the bottle beside her. “That seems to be her favorite,” said the waiter, “she drinks a lot.” “May I get a bottle to take back with us?” asked Galyna. She paid for it and gave the man a large tip for helping Angel. Tracy carried the suitcase and Galyna basically carried Angel.
Meanwhile, back to the 19th floor. “You girls are not going anywhere,” said one of the men. “That is what you think,” said Kera smiling. The girls then attacked the 6 men, kicking them steadily until 3 were lying on the floor, unconscious, and the other 3 were dead. Then they jumped into the elevators and quickly arrived on the main floor. All the girls then went back to the other hotel, taking Angel with them. They got Angel’s fingerprints, all of them, and sent them back to Annelie who was amazed when she saw them.
“How did you get her fingerprints Kat?” she asked. “I got them from Angel,” she said, “we found her, drunk, at the hotel next door where she had been staying for the past month.” “But, but, she is dead Kat,” said Annelie, “buried right here in our own cemetery. It makes no sense. How can she be alive?” “No idea Annelie,” said Kat, “but there is more.” She then told her the conversation she had with Jennifer. “I will get right on it,” said Annelie, “she is right, there must be something important happening.”
But, she was unable to find anything. So she began checking with her many connections to see if any of them knew of anything happening soon. Sure enough, there was something top secret happening in just 5 days. Though obviously not so top secret as some people think. There was a shipment of priceless Indigenous artefacts and jewels arriving in 5 days and they will be displayed at the main museum in the city two weeks from now. For whatever reason these artefacts are arriving earlier than expected and will have to be stored in a well guarded location until the time to display them.
That is what Angelica wants and that is why she wants Steve and the others. She figures they have a chance of pulling it off. “That may not be quite right,” said Alizea, “they might want a failed attempt, that way those treasures will likely be moved to a different location. That is when she will try to steal them, while being moved. They will be most vulnerable then, even if armored trucks are used to transport the treasures. At least, that is the way I would plan it. And that is when Steve and the girls would be used for a real try at those treasures.”
Kat got in touch with Jennifer again and told her what they found out and what Alizea had said. Jennifer agreed with Alizea’s assessment. Jennifer was getting a bit worried though because Angelica and Alice, the woman in charge of this drug experiment, were concerned because this gas was not affecting Jennifer the same way as everyone else. Jennifer was just trying to fake it, but obviously she was not doing it quite right.
Baldwin thought that Jennifer should escape, just in case they have a way to kill her. Kat did not think that was possible, to kill Jennifer, but it still might be a good idea to escape. Jennifer did not like the idea of leaving me though. Matt, Aari, Rock, Astrid and Kristina talked it over, as they are the remaining leaders and they felt it might be better for Jennifer to escape.
Since she is not supposed to know anything anyway, her escape should not endanger the others. Jennifer did not really like the idea of leaving me, but since she was not allowed to spend much time with me anyway, she decided to follow the advice of Kat and the other leaders. Now, to pick the right time, and there was one other problem as well. Kat told her to remain invisible and there would be nothing to worry about.
To Be Continued.

Hi everyone! Time to get yourself another cup of coffee and relax for a few minutes with me. It is another cloudy day here, and still somewhat cool. But that is about to change beginning tomorrow as warmer weather moves into our area finally. It will be nice to have those real spring like temperatures back again. Especially since it is almost summer, which begins in just 4 days.
Meteorological summer anyway, which is June, July and August. That certainly fits better for those of us in the north. The flowering trees and shrubs are just getting into full bloom now and they are really starting to look fantastic. And since it will be sunny tomorrow I am really hoping to get out and take some pictures. Well, I got a bit sidetracked there for a bit and got away from my laptop before getting this finished this morning.

This chipmunk I had named Rusty. And he has a big peanut in that cheek.
Oh well, I’m back again, still saying nothing much, just kind of rambling along. Muffin is curled up with me on my recliner as I type, and she dreams. Just finished my lunch, though I must say that eating some crackers for lunch is not really very exciting, though it does work and I really don’t mind it at all. But it is kind of strange I guess. Oh well.
It is so nice and green looking out across the town now, though there are still a few trees that do not have their leaves fully out yet. I need to go out and water my flowers on the balcony this afternoon before they start to wilt. Muffin will likely wake up and come with me when I do that. She likes to have some balcony time every day, though on those cooler, rainy days she did not want to stay out there very long.

This one I think was Scooter sitting on the deck.
And she prefers to have me out there with her, which is not going to happen on those cooler days. But today should be nice enough to be outside for a while. I really should go for a walk this afternoon too. I am going to show some pics of my little furry friends, that I used to have, and I certainly do miss them.
Seems kind of odd sitting on my balcony and not having all those chipmunks running around, running up my legs and sitting on my lap and getting their peanuts from that blue plastic cup that I held between my knees. And sometimes filling my pockets with extra peanuts. That is how Pocket got his name.

And this one is Skamper, on my knee.
He discovered those extra peanuts and started going into my pockets to get his peanuts. He always loved doing that. Just his tail hanging out of my pocket as he filled his cheeks. And if danger came along he ran into a pocket for protection. Well, guess I better get out and check on those flowers. Have a great day everyone and God bless!
Steve and Muffin.
