For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Rock and his team were well on their way to locating that old. It was a rather odd journey, sometimes it felt like they were going in circles and they nearly were, but they kept making progress. Further and further they went. It was day 4 and they were all waking up to the new day. They were hoping this would be the day they found the old mine.
They should be getting close now and they were all filled with excitement. It would be a day they would not forget, but it would be a day they were not expecting. And certainly not a day of excitement. Meanwhile, back home with the team left behind. Sky and myself were still at the clinic, Sky was still not doing well and was now in a coma.
I was starting to feel somewhat better, but I was still not thinking clearly all the time. Often it still felt like I was in a dream. It was terrible. Kat, Dawn and Kera were still with us guarding us faithfully. And Mac was here as well. Mostly he just sat in the waiting area or he would walk around checking on things. He told them he was there to protect the girls so they could protect us.
Muffin was here too, always staying close to me. Rusty and Snow were at home. Baldwin, Nelson, Annelie, Crystal, Galyna, Carine, Beryan, Trisha (who had come home when she heard Sky and I were nearly killed, she wanted to be close by), and Aari, were back at home. Aari heard something and was on his way to the door to check on things.
Suddenly a large explosion blasted that heavy steel door and sent it flying. Aari went flying too, down the hall. Another large explosion blasted one wall off the library and Baldwin and Nelson lay on the floor, bleeding. Annelie got up to run out and another blast hit the library and she too was on the floor. “Rusty,” said Crystal, “take Snow kitten to the hiding room, fast!
And stay there until one of us comes to get you!” Rusty took Snow and off they went out the back to their little underground hiding room and locked the door behind them. The room was big enough for all 6 cats, with enough food and water to last for 2 weeks. It had nice beds for each of them too. Then Rusty contacted Storm and told him what was happening. Now to Rock and his team. Meowr!=Eek, Eek! screamed Storm running over to Rock.
Meowr!=Code Red H! Rusticat call me, he and Snow kitten in hiding room. House burning, big booms, lots bad people come! Rock called Baldwin Security to get teams over there right away, and helicopters prepared to fight. Mandar called his security too and told them the same thing. But, by the time they got there, it was too late. Rock also called Li Jing and told her Code Red Seal. He then repeated it.
There was no attack at the clinic but the place was sealed anyway. Sky and I were moved to the main room which then lowered underground and sealed off. But would it be enough? “Hey, where is Kat?” asked Kera. Meow, meow.=She go to help at home. “But how?” asked Li Jing, “once this place is sealed, there is no going out or in.” Meow, meow.=Human ghost Kat can.
Meanwhile, “Come Baldwin,” the voice said, “you were burned once which kept you away for far too long. You cannot burn again.” “Aari, are you okay?” asked the voice, “come Aari, you can do it.” “Galyna, Crystal,” the voice said, “you cannot stay here. Beryan, come with me, I will get you out.” Several men came running over, they were from Baldwin Security.
The head man was Richard and he recognized Kat. “How did you get through that fire?” he asked, amazed. “These are a new type of fireproof clothes,” she said, “still experimental, but they work well. And I wrapped them each in a blanket made of the same fabric.” “Impressive,” said Richard, “is that everyone?” Kat put her head down. “No, it is not,” she said quietly, “but, the others were dead.”
“Whoever did this got away,” said Richard, “except for a few that were killed in the attack. Someone had some major resources to do this.” “Yes,” said Kat, “she sure does.” Ambulances were soon there and took everyone to the clinic. Meanwhile, back to Rock and his team. Meowr.=Fight finished, bad men get away. Not good news, some our people killed too, nothing left of home. “What about Annelie?! boomed Rock, “what about Annelie?” Storm looked up at him with the saddest eyes…

Good morning everyone! It is a nice, cloudy morning once again, though it looks like it might be clearing in the south. The temperature began at 38F (3C) earlier this morning, now it has dropped to 34F (1C) and it is supposed to drop further with snow beginning shortly. We still have some snow left from before, all those warm days were not enough to melt all the snow we had, though most is gone.
The weekend is supposed to be mild again though, then a bigger drop in temperature which will then stay with us. Winter has not been too bad so far, although there has been a lot of ice this winter. Well, my new fridge is much nicer than the old one and it is working great. Poor Muffin did not like it when the guys brought in the new fridge.

Blue Jay photos for today, this one is Baxter.
When all was done, or so I thought, the guy said to wait and hour before turning on the fridge. Fine. Now, he did neglect to tell me everything however. Like the fact the fridge was in the middle of the floor, not in the spot where it should be. I had to do that part. It did move quite easily, but a fridge is still heavier than I should be moving around. By quite a bit.

Not sure who this is, but this Blue Jay looks happy on a summer morning.
I finally got it in position and then remembered I needed to plug it in first. Sigh. I pull it back out, plug it in and push the fridge back into position. That was just a little too much and I hurt my back. Sigh. So I had to lie down. That meant no walk that day and no working on my table either.
My back still was not feeling good yesterday, so no walk again and no working on my table. Again. Sigh. Now today it is cloudy, cool and a strong north wind. Oh well, a good day to stay inside and work on my table. And drink coffee. Lots of coffee. I heard a crow cawing earlier this morning, other than that there has been no bird activity today.

This Blue Jay is Betty, Baxter’s mate.
Certainly not a bird area, that is for sure. Oh well. There does seem to be a lot of traffic out there today, more than normal. But this is Christmas shopping season, so that would mean a lot more traffic. Must be time for more coffee. I hope you have a wonderful day and God bless!
Steve and Muffin.
