For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Nelson was furious when he found out the medicine had been tampered with! He ordered an investigation immediately. It was delivered from Baldwin Corporation medical lab, coming by armored truck with driver and 3 armed guards. Apparently all 4 of them quit after that delivery even though they had been working at the medical lab for nearly 3 years.
But Nelson was not satisfied with that and managed to track them down. They all admitted to being paid a large sum of money to do this delivery and then quit and go into hiding. They did not know who paid them however, payment came through a third party, someone they had never seen before. All of that took two weeks and the 4 were arrested.
Now, back to the present situation. A fresh shipment of medicine was shipped quickly to us, but it still took a long time, nearly 20 hours. Sky had not seen Kat yet since we were rescued, she had stayed beside me the whole time. Finally she left the room and spotted Kat sitting on a chair. Sky ran over and gave Kat a big hug, thanking her for protecting me.
“If anyone is going to be stranded somewhere with Steve,” said Sky, “you are first choice.” “The other girls would fight for him too,” said Kat. “Yes, but you can do it and stay alive,” said Sky, “thank you.” Both of them were crying now. Meanwhile, at another hideout. “What do you mean you did not bring him back?” asked a man loudly.
“That lady with him, she killed the other two,” said the helicopter pilot, “and by then there were two other helicopters coming so I had to leave quick.” “Two guys with guns could not stop a lady without a gun?” said the man, “Do you think I am a fool?” “Honest boss,” he said, shaking a bit, “each time they tried to shoot her, nothing happened.
Then they shot to the side and the guns worked. But when they tried to shoot that lady again, nothing happened. Then she killed them. I never saw anyone fight like her before.” “Why do I always get surrounded with incompetent idiots?” said the man, “okay, you can go for now.” The pilot left in a hurry. “It will still likely be too late for them to help him boss,” said another man named Morgan, “he has been too long without his medication for that disease he has.”
“I sure hope so,” said the boss, “otherwise we will have to try again someday.” “You not going after him right now?” asked Morgan. “No, they will be prepared now,” said the boss, “we will need to catch him unprepared…and we will, I promise, we will. But we will wait a bit and see what happens with Steve next.” “What about Drake and his men?” asked Morgan.
“What about them?” asked the boss, “Drake got himself into this mess, he can get himself out of it again. I do not really care what happens to him. I need better men working for me anyway.” Morgan was not too happy with that decision, however, he did not say anything or he would be living underground. Morgan and Drake were very good friends, plus Chuck too.
But how could he help them without the boss finding out? “Hey boss,” said Brad, “I just heard from Linda, there is a new shipment of that ‘nowhere’ medicine that should be arriving at the hospital in 8 hours.” “Finally, someone with brains,” said the boss, “make sure she gets a bonus in with her next pay. Then make sure that plane is stopped before it lands at the airport.”
“Right boss, I will get it done,” said Brad. After he left the office Morgan came in quickly. “Hey boss, a message just came in from Linda,” he said. “Yeah, I know,” said the boss, “Brad is taking care of it.” Morgan looked puzzled. “Something wrong?” asked the boss. “Well, Betty just gave me the message,” he said, “so how did you know about it?” Now the boss looked puzzled.
“Give me that!” he exclaimed. He read the message. “Stop Brad and get him back here, now!” yelled the boss. Morgan was gone, looking for Brad. “Betty, how many messages came from Linda today?” asked the boss. “Just the one I gave to Morgan,” she said. Now the boss was ready to explode! Meanwhile, back to us. The medicine had arrived safely and Lars checked it to make sure it was genuine. It was, so he quickly gave me a shot.
“Just have to wait and see now,” said Lars, “I am sure he will be okay Sky.” Sky managed a tiny smile and Kat put her arm around her. Sky wanted Kat to stay with her now, and Muffin, Storm and Rusty were there too. Kat was really hoping I would remember being married to Sky when I woke up. She did tell Sky what I was like before going unconscious, so Sky was a bit prepared for what I might say…

Good morning on this very beautiful, sunny, fall day! There is some haziness out there, but it does not interfere with the beauty of the morning. I have been sitting here, after playing with Muffin, with my coffee and watching the early dawn change to sunrise. I have not seen much bird activity except for a couple of gulls and a crow.
Yesterday, out behind our building, there were several species of birds, most on their way south. The last of our warbler species, the yellow-rumped warbler, was out there chirping in the trees. There were some blackbirds flying past, a couple of starlings (which stay here all year) and some crossbills in one of the spruce trees.

An Orange-belted Bumble Bee, my favorite little bee.
I was not able to see them well enough to identify which species they were, however, but I think they were the white-winged crossbills. They are an interesting bird that sometimes will show up at feeders. There was also a robin by itself, which is a bit odd this time of year, normally they are in flocks now getting ready to go south.
Our summer robins have gone already, the ones around now are from further north. The weather has been quite nice so far this fall, which a few days that have been rather cool. But this week should be very nice, well above normal for temperatures. I need to get out and take more pictures while it is nice. I also need to repot my geraniums and bring them inside this week while the weather is still nice.

If you look close, there is a green bee on the flower (Yarrow), it is called the Small Carpenter Bee.
I am not planning to keep all of them, but I do want to keep some. Some of my indoor plants did not survive the move too well. Even my aloe vera has decided to give up. Sigh. Guess I will have to buy a new one. The last time I moved my aloe vera died as well. But that one got squashed. Flat. Sigh.
Things are getting done and put in their proper places. A little bit each day. Soon I will be able to take more pics of the apartment so you can see what it looks like when things are normal. Well, sort of normal anyway. About as normal as it gets around here.
My bedroom is still a mess, with 4 boxes that need to be unpacked yet. But I need to get some glass for that one door of my display cabinet before I can unpack those boxes. Maybe I can get that done today. Well, time for more coffee and get back to my ‘work’. Muffin will have her post out a bit later. Have a great day everyone and God bless!
Steve and Muffin.
