Mornings, Computers And Insulators.

Good morning once again even though technically this is evening.  Speaking of punctuation.  People often say my writing is terrible.  Bad grammar.  Bad, or completely lacking, punctuation.  Odd sentences.  Naturally.  I mean, would you really want to read this if I wrote normally?  Okay, maybe some would.  I probably wouldn’t want to, and I’m the writer.  Which would make it really hard to write these ‘musings’ if I didn’t even want to read them.  The two kind of go together.  Even if it doesn’t look like it sometimes. Ever have one of those days when you really don’t want to get out of bed in the morning? Neither do I.  Except maybe when I’m sick.  Even then I normally prefer to get up.  But I like mornings.  So why wouldn’t I want to get up?  Hmm.  Speaking of insulators.  I am. Anyway, as I mentioned last time, fall is the time when Dad and I loved to get out and look for insulators.  You don’t know what insulators are?  You need to get out more.  Anyway, to keep it short, they are those glass and porcelain things on hydro and telephone poles that hold the wires.  Okay, I admit, they are not around much anymore.

Canadian Pacific
This is an insulator that was commonly used in this area.

Anyway, you’re getting me off topic.  Well, sort of.  So Dad and I are out one sunny fall day in October.  Over the edge of a rock, about 8 feet down, I noticed some glass.  Insulators, I said to Dad.  Go down and toss them up to me, said Dad.  Notice what he told me to do.  Off I went.  Mainly more common types but they were in very nice condition.  So I started tossing them up to Dad and he caught them nicely.  But our timing got a bit off.  He had just set down one insulator and turned to catch the next.  Which was already there.  And hit Dad on the head.  He held his head and groaned.  You missed that one, I said.  He groaned again and managed to say, ‘BONEHEAD!’  Did it break?, I asked.  I don’t think it hit me that hard, said Dad.  I meant the insulator, said I.  Thanks, said Dad.  Why thank me for that?  Odd.  Speaking of computers.  They are great things.  Always work so good.  Right.  It takes me a year to really learn how to do things and then they come up with a big update.  Now things don’t work the same.  And it takes me another year to figure out what they did.  Then it gets changed again.  It’s enough to make a person jump up and down, bang their head on the wall and, and…AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!  It’s okay.  I’m fine.  I’m calm.  At least that’s what happens to me.  Sigh.  But computers are good things anyway.  I think.  Hard to tell sometimes.  Oh well.  Speaking of shopping. Wait.  That’s wasn’t part of my title.  Hmm, guess that will have to wait until next time.  It snowed a lot today.  All melted though.  It has been a cold day.  Only 37F.  And this is still September.  Sigh.  Don’t forget!!  Tomorrow is International Chipmunk Appreciation Day!

Rusty on the go.

Okay, not officially.  But let’s make it one of those fun holidays!  Spread the word!  Sigh. I hope you all enjoy your weekend and God bless!
