For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Hello everyone on this last day of March. And it’s Friday. Okay, maybe I’m not too excited about this being Friday. That’s just me. But I was sitting here this afternoon and looked out the window to see that it was…SNOWING! And not just a few lazy snowflakes. It was snowing heavily. It was hard to see across the street. This is spring.

At least, that’s what the calendar says. This is actually our third very late spring in a row. That does not normally happen. Normally the snow is gone by about April 7. At the latest. That poor robin I saw must be wondering why he bothered to come back. It is normal for robins to be back now. But there is usually some ground showing. Okay, there is a few patches of ground showing. But not much. Sigh.

Dreaming…
Of warm weather. Palm trees. Sand. Ocean. Definitely not snow. I have been talking about winter since early October. Why? Because that’s when winter arrived with 9 inches of snow. That doesn’t usually happen. Our winters seem to be getting longer and colder. Sigh. But perhaps it makes summer even more enjoyable. That’s what I try to tell myself anyway.
Muffin has…
Gone from cabin fever to spring fever. I think the spring fever is worse. She wants that door open. I gave in a couple of days that were nice and sunny. But, when the sun doesn’t shine, like today, she still wants the door open. She doesn’t understand that it’s too cold on cloudy days. I try to explain it to her. Doesn’t work out too well. So I’m wearing shoes inside now. Better protection. Except I discovered her sharp teeth can go right through my jeans. Easily. I’m running out of bandages again. But I’m doing my part in keeping that company prospering. Sometimes I think Muffin is working for them.
My questions…
Don’t seem to be going over too well. Odd. Only one person was brave enough to answer this last one. It was a good answer. It wasn’t correct, but it was good. Oh well.

I tried. Maybe I should try singing. Forget it. You definitely don’t want to hear that. If I try that when I’m alone, Muffin covers her ears. Or she gives me something to scream about. She’s always thinking about me. Unfortunately right now she has her days and nights a bit mixed up. I go to bed. She wakes up. 1 am, she wants to play. I want to sleep. So we play for a while. That way I get to sleep. Last night I refused. She played extra loud. Normally she just plays quietly with her toys. Last night she was a terror. Running, jumping, crashing, scratching (on her scratching post and the mat by the door, which is allowed). So I didn’t sleep. Until she quit. Sigh. One of those days, I mean, nights.
My mind keeps wandering.
Hard to stay focused today for some reason. So I think I will keep this short.

And add a couple extra pics instead. I am really looking forward to spring. Real spring. With no snow on the ground kind of spring. And hundreds of birds singing. It does happen. Honest. Just seems like such a long time ago. Sigh.

Well, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and God bless!
Steve and Muffin.
It’s so weird to read that it’s snowing there when we reached 70 degrees here today! 🙂 I think it’s supposed to go back to being colder this weekend, though. It’s definitely Spring here!

It was 70 here today too, inside. Sigh. Thanks for reading! Spring will arrive, sometime.

Tomorrow is the 31st which is the last day of the month which is also Sunday. You are getting confused my dear friend. For you it is Friday the 29th. So spring still has 2 days to get it right

Problem is, it’s supposed to get colder, then start to warm up a bit later next week. Sigh.

So what happened to global warming and the world not lasting 12 more years?

Certainly not getting warmer here.

I didn’t have anyone participate in my creative contest this time around either. But that’s alright. ☺️ Loving the photos. I imagine our outside birds follow me around and say “Mrs. Clayton, our bird feeders need attention, if you please.”

I would participate except I’m not very creative when it comes to writing. I know what I want to say but when I write it down, it just doesn’t come out right. Just not good with fiction I guess. One of my bird feeders was emptied out today which is odd.

No worries. ☺️ Hmm. that is odd. We found one of our soot feeders on the ground dragged a little distance. I suspected a raccoon possibly. Or just a determined squirrel.

Around here it would definitely be a raccoon, they’re the only ones that can reach them.

It is snowing here again right now. It has been a crazy winter for snow! Hang in there! God bless!

Now I don’t feel so bad, you’re much further south, but it will likely melt a bit faster than ours. Going down to only 8F tonight, that is unbelievable even for us! Thanks for reading, God bless!

I can’t believe you get so much snow! We never get any!

Wow, you must live in California! Or Texas, well, I guess there’s a few states that don’t get snow. That would be so nice!

No, I live in the southern part of SC. The upper part of the state might get a little snow, but we’re down south, so no. 😦

No snow down there, that’s too bad, but you will get to see a lot up in WI! Still not as cold as here though. This is unusual for us, I just hope it’s not going to continue this way each year! If that happens I just might consider moving to the southern part of this big province. Sigh.

Yeah. It’s always nice down south!

Actually I think Hawaii is looking better all the time! Or anywhere nice and warm all year. Could never do it, but it’s nice to think about!

Here in Wisconsin we are supposed to get more snow too! Sigh! My cat is a lot like Muffin, she likes to party between 1 – 3am. She will sometimes claw my face until I pet her. My youngest son says it is because her “love tank” is empty. I wish she’d go empty during daylight hours. 🙂 Great pics as always, Steve!

That’s great, gave me a good laugh! I would never have thought you would get snow this late. Shows what I don’t know. Thanks so much!

I love hearing your Muffin stories. There is hope where the snow is concerned, all of ours is just about gone now. Only very tiny patches remain now, and bits of green is starting to show through after the rain.🎉🎉🌸🌷🌺

Thank you Leola! Green and rain, such a nice thought! We have another cool week coming up, then the temp should start to climb.

Cute pics of the deer family ! I wonder what Muffin thinks of them…

Muffin enjoys watching the deer, but she liked it more when they used to come on the deck. She always has liked deer, just like Bonnie did. Cats are strange sometimes, getting excited about an animal so much bigger than themselves!😸
