This And That Tuesday.

Good afternoon everyone on this rather cloudy day here at Steve’s Country.  I’m a little late getting this out today.  I really wanted to get it out this morning.  Just didn’t work.  As you can see.  One of those days.  Sometimes things just move a little slower.  Or faster.  Or things get in the way.  Something happens.  In other words, a normal day.  Around here at least.  I don’t think Muffin and I really know what normal means.IMG_4603

I have a chair by the door that Muffin likes to sit on while watching the chipmunks. I can still go in and out no problem.  Usually.  But for some reason this time was different.  Caught my foot on the leg of the chair.  So the chair came outside with me.  With a loud crash.  Both of us crashed.  I’m glad Muffin wasn’t on the chair at the time.  Or she would have been gone.  Sigh.  I mean really, how could it happen?  Oh well.  Like I say, just one of those days.

Haven’t had a picture of my friend Baxter the blue jay for a while, so here is a new one of him.

There was absolutely no wind.  Good, I thought.  I will go get some pictures of flowers.  It’s a little hard to focus on them when the wind is blowing them all over the place.  I get out there.  First flower.  Wind starts blowing.  Quite a bit.  So the flower is moving all over the place.  Amazing really.  Not really.  Around here, that’s normal.  So what to do? Hold the stem of the flower with one hand.  Take picture with other hand.  Trying to hold camera steady.  Also trying not to get my other hand in the picture.  Not easy.  But it works.

But that’s not as bad as balancing on a little rock out in the water while trying to get a picture of a small flower that grows in the water.  Not easy.  Especially since the rock is not flat.  Actually it was kind of pointy.  I could have just waded out into the water.  But I didn’t feel like getting wet that day.  That wasn’t today.  It’s a rather dull, cloudy day.  Not very good for pictures.  It would be okay for certain things.  Not really the best day for flower pictures.  But I did it anyway.  I wanted to get out for a while.  I’m an outdoor person.  I stay indoors a lot during the winter.  This time of year I try to be outside as much as possible.  So my posting gets messed up a bit.  So does reading.

I’m on my bed at the moment.  Just to be different.  Muffin is sleeping right beside me.  She must have been dreaming.  She really jumped.  Startled me a bit.  I think it startled her too.

Everyone should get outside each day if at all possible.  Just go for a walk.  Doesn’t need to be an exciting nature walk.  Just get out and walk.  Being outside is good for the brain. Helps to clear our thoughts.  Helps to get rid of stress.  Helps us to think about other things.  Helps us to think more clearly so we can tackle those problems that we might have.  Sitting inside all the time is not a good idea.  If you have a park nearby, go and sit there for a while.  Enjoy the trees and other greenery.  Green is a soothing color.  It helps us to relax.  It helps us to unwind from the day.

Haven’t had a picture of Rusty for a while either, so here he is stuffing his cheeks with peanuts.

    • Thanks Kevin! Those are getting very hard to find now, yet they used to be so common. Unfortunately people keep picking them and they never bloom again when picked.😕

  5. Great Post Steve! Sorry I was a bit late to reading it today as someone seems to be planning the posting of them while I am busy working! Hmmmm… I wonder who would do such a thing?🤔🤔😉 Anyway I loved the picture of the Deer! Don’t get to see many still in velvet!

  7. I love these pictures! They are so cute! Oh, I understand you very well! Every time I go near a flower to take a picture, the wind it starts to blow 😂
    Very true! I enjoy walking outside! If it happens to not go outside for one day, which is most of the time impossible, I have a bad headache. Nature is my relaxing place 🌸🌺

  8. Hey steve! Glad muffin was not there. That was a good photography, you are still a pro with single hand 😉✨👌 ofcourse everyone have to go for a walk, once atleast a day. That will keep us healthy. Nature walk is always a best idea… Great share 🤗✨✍️

  11. Guess it’s Wednesday by now so hope today things and weather will be better for outdoor and pictures 🙂 Damn what are the odds to have the chair catch your leg 😂 sorry but I laugh when someone falls, hope it wasn’t serious though :/
    Baxter is always beautiful with this lovely blue color 😁 and very nice shot for this buck 😁
    It’s a hassle taking picture to the flower while the wind is blowing, but this is beautiful picture for the Orchid 🙂
    Hope today will be better and hope you will have a great day and no need to be normal at all 😁😁

    • Hi Huguette! That’s okay, I always laugh when someone falls too, including laughing at myself.😂 I can just imagine how it would look with arms waving around and the look on my face! I didn’t get hurt at all from it so that was good too. It is raining right now, the forecast was actually right for a change, we had a lot of rain overnight and lots of thunder which Muffin didn’t like,🙀 so she was under the bed most of the time. I hope the areas with forest fires got this rain too. If I was normal, I wouldn’t be any fun!😂😹 Hope you have a great day!😃🌞😺

        Hope the rain will reach the burning forests indeed and wish it can rain without Thunder :/ I can imagine the poor Muffin terrified!

      • Just got back home, went out to my favorite coffee shop for a bit.☕ Yes, Muffin just hates that thunder, she is still nervous this morning.🙀Still haven’t heard if the rain got the fires or not, our local news can be a bit slow at times.😕It will be a good day indeed, lots to do and I have already accomplished some things, should get a lot done today.
