Coffee With Steve #2.

Hi and welcome back everyone to my new coffee with Steve series that I started 18 days ago.  I actually was planning to have this every other week, but, it got to be a bit longer.  I hope you haven’t forgotten about this too much yet.😂😹 But don’t worry, that’s okay if you have forgotten.  Hopefully in the New Year this will be a more regular feature of Steve’s Country.  Plus some other new things coming up as well, but more on that another time.

My drop front desk and antique oak chair

Please feel free to join in with our little coffee time, bring some of your favorite cookies, cake or other goodies for us to sample and we can just sit and chat for a while.  I will always have lots of coffee on hand, but don’t expect to find flavored coffees, sorry about that if that is your favorite.  I will also have some tea, herbal tea and hot chocolate available, all are perfect for our cold winter weather.

I call this my reading nook

Hi Renee, so nice that you could drop in today, I will get your coffee for you right away. Pick yourself a chair and here is your coffee, with my very own Spritz cookies.  It is such a beautiful sunny day and that really makes this little apartment so nice and bright.  But not much bird activity for us to enjoy today.  Jessica, are you ready to enjoy some of my homemade raspberry leaf tea?  Anyone else ready for some more coffee?  And how about you Richard?  You must need a refill by now.

A stool and small storage box that I made from some scrap pieces of wood

Well, there may not be many birds around, but how about if I show you some of my handmade items?  Actually, most everything in here was made by me, that includes nearly all my furniture.  Handmade things helps to give a more country look to a place and that’s what I like.  I enjoy country living but now live in town so I try to bring as much country to me as I possibly can.  Also, one of the nice things about the country look is, things don’t need to be perfect.  And since I can’t do things perfectly, then this is perfect.😀😀  I think. 🤔 But not too often,😂😹 it gives me a headache.😨  Sigh.🙄

As you can see, I like to try some sewing projects now and then too.  I find it quite relaxing and a rather fun hobby.  Especially on those winter days, or any other day, when I can’t get outside for one reason or another.  And I like blue and white, a color combination that is next to impossible to find around here.  So I make it myself.  And it’s a nice accent color that fits well with wood furniture.

I know everyone is still likely very busy with the end of the year just around the corner.  Any special plans for the New Year?  I have a lot of ideas for 2020, though I’m not sure how many of those ideas will actually turn into something.  Guess we will have to wait and see about some of them.  Some are definitely going to happen.

Thank you all for coming by today, sorry I can’t mention everyone by name.  It would be a long list indeed.  But I’m thankful for all of you who joined in today for our second coffee time.  And I look forward to seeing you all again!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and God bless!

Steve and Muffin.

    • Hey, thanks so much Simon! Yep, I like making things, great way to relieve stress. But it’s just fun besides. And I like to see what I can make just from scraps. Even with sewing I like to use scraps of material. Next time maybe I will show a blanket I made just from scraps. Lots of fun.😃😺😜
Blue is definitely my favorite color, and it looks nice with natural wood.😁😸
Beautiful day it is, must get something to eat I guess.😕🤪
Hope you are able to get some sleep tonight.😀😴😴

      • Hi Steve, Yes i must agree, sEwing is a stress reliever and fun also. We could design our own clothes, and make ourselves pillow bedcovers and lot more ✨😁 I’m feeling sad because i dont have much time to spend on sEwing nowadays. Blue is a favourite colour 😍 hope you enjoyed the beautiful day ✨☃️ Have a peaceful night

      • I don’t think I would want to sew clothes, that’s a bit too tricky for me.😂😁Yes indeed, I enjoyed the day, even got some nice pics of birds too finally.😀📷 It’s starting to get daylight now, time to get some food out for the birds or they will be knocking on the door. Maybe I should say window. I have had birds knock on the window if there is no food out there for them. They learn fast.😀😀
Hope you are having a nice evening Simon!😃😺⛄🌙🌲

  3. Thanks Steve for the coffee! It really hit the spot! Sorry I was a “little” late getting here! I’ve had family over and grandbabies to hold. 🙂
I think I will sit in your Reading Nook. It sure looks inviting, and maybe browse a few books. 🙂

Love the cushions! The homemade furniture, shelves and all are awesome—a hobby to be proud of! I love the blue! I have incorporated blue into my living room as well. 😺

We usually go to a New Year’s party with a couple we go to church with. They invite the entire church over to ring in the new year…I may not get to go this year. Well, thanks for the chit-chat and joe! Until next time….. ✌🏼

    • Hi Renee! So glad you could make it again. Yes, this is a busy time of year and definitely important to spend time with grandchildren! Must be nice having them around like that.
Yes, check out the books, not sure what you like. There is a lot of biographies plus a lot more!
Thanks so much Renee! I enjoy making things and since I can’t do woodworking in winter I decided to try my hand at sewing and found I really enjoyed it. Still have a lot to learn on that one though, but it is fun.
Blue has been my favorite color since I was a kid. My last apartment I could have a blue and white kitchen which I liked, can’t do that here though.
Well, I hope you have a good New Year’s time even if you can’t go to that party. 😃🥳🎆🎇Thanks again for joining the coffee time and I hope you have a wonderful Sunday!😁😸⛄🌲

      • It has been great having family around! Exhausting, but in a good kind of way…Do you have any mysteries? I need to finish one I started recently. (Actually 2 😹)

I love hand sewing. I think I’m going to sew a baby quilt for my new grandbaby that is on the way! A girl…
Blue is classic. A great color and never goes out of style! Maybe you could add some blue in your kitchen with blue plates, curtains, tablecloth etc.💁🏼‍♀️

      • Hey, I’m starting to write a mystery, chapter one will be up and ready on January 1st. More info coming soon!
Yep, I add in a lot of blue accessories. My kitchen and living room are all one room really, though I have some shelves dividing the 2.
A baby quilt sounds great! I did one quilt, for a twin bed, called Joseph’s Coat. Lot of pieces to that one but a simple design.
        Have a great afternoon!😃😺🕵️‍♂️🕵️‍♂️

      • Wow! Can’t wait Steve! Love your stories! 👁🔎🕵🏻‍♂️🗝👣

My kitchen and living room have an open floor plan also.
I can imagine that quilt was beautiful Steve! Do you have any pics? You are talented! Mine won’t even be that detailed. It will be the kind you buy and just sew the binding on the edges. I may just surprise myself and learn to sew a plain one with squares. YouTube here I come! 😆
It was a good day. Hope yours was, too. 😁

      • I hope it turns out good anyway. We’ll see.
Yep, I have a pic of my quilt, maybe I will show it next time. It’s colorful anyway. Even if not perfect.😄Thanks, though I’m not sure talented is quite the right word.😂
Yep, can learn a lot from you tube. Had to go there to learn how to braid so I could try making a braided rug.😂😹🙄
Yep, it was a good day, even with the snow.
