Coffee With Steve, Muffin And Friends #6.

Hello everyone and welcome back to another coffee time here at Steve’s Country! Muffin was just here reminding me that I hadn’t done our coffee post today, which is terrible, this is so late. But that might be a good thing since it is so hot today, this might be a cooler time of day to have our time together. And today we will be back at McLeod Park, a place we visited last year for a coffee time last July. So, here we are a year later to enjoy this wonderful little park beside the lake. Unlike some of the others there is just a short walk from the parking lot to the park itself. We get to walk under the bridge right along the outlet to the river. The river along this part never freezes even in our coldest weather, due to the strong current.

There are many nice shade trees here for us to sit under, plus several benches and picnic tables for us to use as well. Plus it is quite nice to just sit on the cool grass and enjoy looking out over the lake. Hi John, nice that you could join us today. And here comes Kevin, Vincent and Giovanni too. Hi Sheree, I see Muffin has already said hi to you and no doubt waiting to see what goodies you brought today. Hi Nina and Mr. Cat. Wow, look at those two cats racing around, and on such a hot day too! But I’m sure they’ll stop once the food comes out.

Hi Ally, so nice that you had time to join us today. Hi Hilary, nice to see you again. Over there on the hill is our hospital, which is located on an island actually, but our main highway also runs across this island so the hospital is readily accessible. And across the bay we can see part of our downtown section. The park itself is rather hilly, like this whole town, and has many nice flower beds. They have just been recently planted for the summer so have not had a chance to really fill out yet, except a couple of the perennial beds. We are a bit late for some of the perennial flowers, but there is a couple nice iris left over here. And some nice odd looking flower stems coming up among those hosta over there, we’re just a little too early for those ones I see. They produce some nice light purple flowers.

Just continue to help yourselves to the coffee, iced tea and lemonade. There is regular tea as well, and mint tea, both hot and cold. I see there is some boat traffic on the lake today, though not busy like normal. There is not much bird activity in this little park, but there is a robin and a song sparrow singing for us today. And on the other end of the park and following all along the bay right into town is a favorite spot for our local Canada geese population. Time always seems to go so fast when we get together for coffee. Now it is already time to say good bye for another week. I hope you have enjoyed our time at the park today, have a most wonderful day, please stay safe and God bless!

Steve and Muffin.

  1. Hi Steve! Thanks for the shout-out! πŸ˜€ Wow! Hot weather, eh? It’s cold and rainy here. We haven’t had hot temps in a while and it’s been nothing but rain all week long. I like the rain but this is a bit overboard. β˜”οΈπŸ˜‚

    • Hi Hilary, yes, it’s the jet stream, kind of locked in position giving you cooler rainy weather and us fantastic hot weather.🌞😎 It’s actually 36 in my apartment right now, around 29 outside. We might get a bit of rain or thunderstorms overnight and tomorrow, then back to sunshine. A little too warm for Muffin though,πŸ™€ but she lays in front of the window where she gets a breeze, or under one of the ceiling fans.😻 By morning it’s cool in here again.πŸ˜€πŸ˜Ί

  2. Hi Steve, Having fun with the fellow bloggers ✨ Amazing… Hot weather 😍 Who doesn’t love hot weather 😸. I’m sure cats love more than we do, as they spend most hours doing nothing πŸ˜‚. Beautiful flowers and beautiful places. I wonder why nature is so cruel on such a beautiful place. Enjoyed it… Have a Beautiful Wednesday βœ¨πŸ˜ΈπŸ€—

    • Hi Simon, thanks for joining us today!πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ΊπŸŒž Muffin doesn’t like it when it’s too hot, like yesterday, she just sleeps. There is so much beauty around here, but it’s only for such a short time and then comes that other season I don’t like to talk about!πŸ˜³πŸ˜³πŸ™€ A bit wet today with sun and rain, sun and rain. Might not get my walk today. Oh well, more indoor workout time. Hope you had a good day Simon! Today is Canada Day,πŸ˜„πŸ˜Έ our county’s birthday!πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸŽˆπŸŽˆπŸŽ†πŸŽ†πŸŽ‡πŸŽ‡πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰βœ¨βœ¨πŸ§¨πŸ§¨πŸ§¨πŸ§¨πŸŽŠπŸŽŠ Unfortunately celebrations have been canceled due to the coronavirus.πŸ˜•πŸ™€ Have a great evening Simon!πŸ˜πŸŒ™

      • Happy Canada Day Steve ✨πŸ₯³ It’s sad, they have blocked all the celebrations, but I saw the count was reduced right except few days ago there was a spike in count. Yes better don’t talk about it, these beauty is buried by heartless nature for most of the time πŸ™„. May be tilting the axis of earth would help isn’t it πŸ˜‚πŸ˜Έ Or maybe if we go to Mars things will take a wild change πŸ™ƒπŸ˜‰ And go for walking only if it is not wet, else go-ahead with your regular workouts at home 😊✨ Have a great day πŸ₯³

      • Yes, the virus is down a lot here in Canada, if people do things right then maybe we can get rid of it completely. Unfortunately people relax after a bit and forget about following common sense rules like washing hands properly and social distancing, so it comes back again. We certainly don’t want to end up like it is in the US right now! It’s bad down there, scary really, that’s very close to us.
Thanks Simon! I have my Canadian flag out today! 153 years old!πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸŽŠπŸŽ‰βœ¨πŸŽ‡πŸ§¨πŸŽˆπŸŽˆπŸŽ‚πŸŽ‚πŸŸπŸŸ

      • Wow ✨ That’s the way showing the real pride of being your country’s proud citizen. US should atleast try Canada’s model, the rate of people getting infecting and losing life is very very scary πŸ™„. let’s be grateful for where we are now and stay Safe✨πŸ₯³πŸ€—

      • Hope you are asleep now πŸ˜‚ That’s good, asking questions to each other while we both asleep 😸😹. You must train muffin to text me, I’ll talk to her when you are asleep 😁

  3. I’ve bought a selection of gluten-free goodies and some treats for Muffin. I think I’ll sit in the shade and have some iced tea. It’s warm today.
