Good morning everyone! I’m a bit late with my daily pics today, things happen sometimes. Sir Charles was here this morning, though he seemed a bit timid today for some reason. About 15 minutes later Sir George and Lady Pearl showed up and once they were gone Sir Henry came by. Sir Henry rarely shows up so early, though it has happened before. So I was out 3 times with breakfast for these gulls. Probably a good thing they don’t all show up at the same time, there would likely be some fighting happen, so it’s better this way. Skamper was the first chipmunk here this morning and he managed to get two trips done before Pocket showed up. Then both Skitter and Skatter showed up and the new chipmunk, so there are 5 now.
Good thing they had a lot of peanuts at the store this morning. Now to name that new chipmunk. The easiest way to tell them apart is by their tails, but they all have different personalities too. Skamper is the most friendly and he will crawl all over me and sit on my shoulder. I can bend down and he will hop on my hand right away, much like the original Skamper which was here for 4 summers. That one would see me coming home and would run fast and from 4 feet (120cm) away would jump right onto my hand and I would put him in my pocket so he could get his peanuts. I miss that one.
Today I have a couple of different pics, the first at the top is Jasper, one of the 3 squirrels here and the only one that can still get on my bird feeder. But he is nice and doesn’t chew on the feeder, just sits there, in a rather odd way. Notice his left foot hanging onto the feeder half way up his back. He sits, digs in one of the feeding stations, pulls out one seed in his paw and eats it. And he will stay doing that for half an hour. Runner hates that because he can’t figure out how to get on there and always ends up on the ground.
Then in the pic above is a Shirley poppy, a very beautiful poppy in my landlord’s garden. Well, I hope you all have a wonderful day and God bless!
