For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning on this very cloudy, but warm morning! The forecast is calling for severe thunderstorms for us this morning and right now there is thunder in the distance. Poor Muffin, she just got up to her favorite window when the thunder started. And she departed. She is now under the bed. A few raindrops have begun falling. There was a very weird color in the sky this morning before the clouds took over completely. It produced an eerie glow everywhere. The birds are acting strange too. Only Sir George and Lady Pearl came for food this morning, and they ate and left very quickly. The smaller birds have not shown up. Jasper was here though, but only briefly. The chipmunks have been acting normal though. Hmm, I think Sir Charles might have arrived, must go check.

Yes indeed, he was here so I gave him breakfast and he too disappeared fast. Still no small birds which is very unusual, although I can hear a white throated sparrow chirping back among the bushes somewhere. The raindrops and distant thunder have stopped, but Muffin has decided to stay under the bed just in case. She figures there is no point taking chances. But animals are able to sense a storm a long ways off, humans can’t do that. So there could be a storm somewhere in the area which is affecting her. I’m late again today. Sometimes I wonder if I’ll get back to my normal routine. Maybe I’ll just have to start a new routine. Not an easy thing to do sometimes. Oh well.

Today for our photos we have 3 different pics from the river, such a beautiful and relaxing place. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and God bless!

Hopefully you won’t get thunderstorms. 😘

The clouds have left and it’s nice and sunny now. Hmm, Muffin eats grass every day, doesn’t bring rain though. Oh well.
But thunderstorms are in the forecast for tonight again.🙀
Hey, that would be 8am my time, so you were up early!😂😹😻

Nice relaxing place 😍✨ Hi Steve, How are you 😇? And I would deny a point that human cannot sense what’s coming. Human can Sense long before any other animals, problem is we are far far far away from nature now. I know kids that doesn’t know how to walk in sand with bare foot, And there was a research that says human have a sense like spiders that can sense from any kind of dangerous situation 😉🧐 Have a wonderful day Steve ✨🤗

Hi Simon! Well, I have never met anyone that could sense a storm coming long before it gets here, but maybe there is some. All the research I have read says that animals, especially dogs and cats can sense storms and danger long before humans can. Muffin once knew a storm was coming before there was any clouds. It was an hour later before clouds showed up and another hour before I heard any distant thunder. But Muffin knew and hid. It turned out to be a very bad storm too. I doubt any people could do that! So I’ll stick with the animal senses over mine any day.😸😽 Enjoy your day Simon!😁🌞 Have you made it to your destination yet?🤔

yes, animals can do that, Humans can do at some extent, I said in the sense of our intelligence.😁✨We are intelligent right 🤔 maybe I don’t fall into that Category😜

Hmm, that’s why I can’t do it, I’m not intelligent enough.🤔🤪 That means Muffin is smarter than me!😲😲😽😽

I wonder where all the birds and squirrels and chipmunks go during a storm…
the river looks like a wonderful place to visit…

Birds just hide in trees, chipmunks and squirrels up this way live underground normally, though squirrels will sometimes find other sheltered spots to live. Ducks, loons, gulls, that live on the water just take their chances or will go onto shore to stand under a tree if it’s a real bad storm.
That river is a very peaceful place.

I never gave much thought to what animals do during a storm until I read your post – I am glad I asked!

We’ve had some ugly thunderstorms, lately. Callie is under the bed before the lightning flashes and thunderclaps so I agree, animals sense storms before humans. With that said, animals would probably be good weather forecasters. ⛈ 🌩⚡️🙀
