For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Hi everyone! Here we are with another wildflower, the “fireweed”. There are a couple different subspecies of this one, but not much difference between them. This is a native wildflower, member of the primrose family and blooms from June to August with beautiful pink to light purple flowers in a cluster type spike at the top of the plant. They can grow from 3 to 7 feet (about 1 to 2 meters) tall. They prefer sunny locations but will grow in part shade. They are often found along lakes, rivers, streams and fields. They are usually one of the first plants to grow after a forest fire, bringing life and beauty to a charred landscape, and being a good source of nectar to draw bees and butterflies back to the area. They can be found across Canada and most of the US except from Kansas to Texas and east to Florida and Georgia. Have a wonderful weekend and God bless!

I should have said why, it’s because it grows up so fast after a forest fire, that’s the fire part. And after the fire it spreads fast, like a weed, even though it isn’t. So there it is Fire Weed!๐๐ค๐๐น

You did already, that’s truly the amazing part of this flower, growing up too fast is simply amazing ๐

We have lilac bushes and trees, not native to our area, just ones that people plant. But they are all beautiful!๐๐ธ
