Hi again everyone! Today’s wildflower is the “common boneset”. This is another native wildflower and a little odd looking, but quite interesting too. It has very wrinkly leaves that join in the center so that it looks like the stem goes right through one large leaf. At the top of the stem is a cluster of flowers made up of smaller clusters of tiny flowers. It likes sunny locations but will grow in partial shade as well, in moist fields and along shores of streams, rivers and lakes. It will grow from 2 to 4 feet (60 to 120cm) tall and blooms from July to October. In Canada it can be found from Manitoba to the east coast, and in the US from N.D. to Texas and to the east coast. Interestingly this is a member of the aster family even though it looks nothing like an aster. Have a great day and God bless!

That is interesting. I still don’t know why it was put in the aster family, no similarity at all. Thanks Ribana! The smoke is so thick again it’s hard to see across the street, and ash is falling all around, even coming through the screens on the windows! Have a great day Ribana!😁😺😳🔥🔥

They will keep going until we get some prolonged heavy rain, or until winter,😬 whichever comes first. It’s getting worse all the time this evening,😲 and my eyes are getting worse too, it’s getting hard to see. Sigh.😳
