Steve And Muffin’s Wildflowers #62.
Hi everyone! Today’s wildflower is the “orange hawkweed”. They kind of look like orange and yellow dandelions, a very bright and beautiful wildflower, however it is not a native to N. America but comes from Europe though it’s been here for probably a hundred years. Like dandelions, many people hate this flower, but I like it for it’s bright and cheery color. We don’t have many wildflowers that are orange so it’s a nice addition. And butterflies like it, so that makes it good from my point of view. Anything that helps our butterfly populations is good. Anyway, it blooms from June to October, though around here June and July are it’s main time. It likes sunny locations but will grow in partly shady spots too. They like to grow in drier locations like fields and along roads, but will sometimes grow in lawns and gardens too. The flowers are 3/4 to 1 inch (18 to 25mm) across. They can be found right across Canada and most of the US, but are absent in a few states, especially the south central area. Have a wonderful day everyone and God bless!

Yes indeed! My landlord hates them!😳 But lots of people do. Kind of strange for something so bright and cheery looking.🙄🙄

Why would someone hate something like this 🧐 weird taste 🙄🙄 You can courier me the seeds I’ll make my people hate them too 🤪 because once Simon said, like and do what most people hate😂😂

Oh, too bad,🤯 the seeds have already been blown away by the wind.😕 Should be a better crop next year.😃 Wasn’t many wildflowers this year, too dry,😕 except for the real early ones.🤔

It will be better next year, it should be after all the big fires 😳 there should be ❤️ hope for a greener year 😍
