Iβm guessing your ants are more aggressive than ours

These ants really are aggressive, but usually only when protecting their homes. The home mound can be a foot or more tall and 2 feet across. Just putting your foot on it and you will be covered amazingly fast with hundreds of biting ants, like being stung by a bee! They really do hurt. I stepped on one accidentally, it was covered with pine needles so didn’t show up well and I was too busy following a bird, and wow! Happened once when I was a kid too! They are large ants and a favorite food for bears.

Our fire season should be over soon. I hope that one doesn’t do much damage.

That’s too bad, it’s terrible to see the effects of a forest fire.

Ants get more aggressive, it depends on that kind of ant we stepped on π π

It’s always good to pay attention where we step. When I lived around cattle ranchers in Montana, I learned to watch my step for a different reason.
