For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning everyone on this very cool, but sunny, Monday! It is so nice to see that sun shining on this fall morning, and it’s supposed to be sunny all day! That part is very nice, especially since this is a holiday for most people in our country. And the last 2 days haven’t been very nice for those trying to enjoy the last big holiday weekend of the season. Well, there is still Thanksgiving weekend coming up in October, but it can be rather cool by that time, so not nearly as popular as this one. I do like fall, but summer and spring are definitely my favorite seasons, with summer being tops on the list. I even enjoy thinking about summer when it starts to get colder.
Like one time out at the cottage for a few days. The main cottage hadn’t been built yet so I was staying in what would become a storage shed. But at least it was better than a tent, somewhat anyway. You know, just in case bears came around. Late one evening the sun was just beginning to set, I was outside watering the flowers around the storage shed and I got this ‘feeling’. It’s that ‘feeling’ of being watched by someone. This place was way out far away from people. There was a half mile long road into the property from the highway, no one else on that road. There was no phone out there yet and no cell phone.

So getting that ‘feeling’ made me a bit uneasy. I looked all around but couldn’t see or hear anything. All the brush had been cleared from under the trees for a good distance so it was easy to see around the area. I kept watering the flowers and walked around the shed. That ‘feeling’ stayed with me however. I kept looking. Nothing. I watered more flowers. Then that ‘feeling’ got real strong. I stood straight up since I had been bent over the flowers. I looked all around the shed but still could see nothing. It was a beautiful sunset that evening, now it was just that twilight period.
One final look around and I went inside, locked the door and sat down at the table. I had just sat down when this very large female bear walked right past the window! It was a beautiful cinnamon bear (black bear that is brown in color) and she was at least 500 pounds! That’s why I had that ‘feeling’ while I was outside. But where had she been hiding? She was obviously very close to be walking past the window so soon, I mean, I had just sat down. At least I was ‘safe’ now. Another time I will let you know how safe I was. Sounds like the chipmunks and blue jays are out of food and I need more coffee, anyone else wanting more coffee? Have a marvelous Monday everyone and God bless!

Very good! Though it would be nice if I could at least sit on my deck without having to worry about a bear joining me.😳☕🐻
