For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning everyone! I hope you are all feeling well today. It’s a beautiful, sunny, fall morning. The sun is warming up my deck quite nicely so I was out there with my coffee enjoying all the action. However, due to the sun being much lower in the sky now, my deck is now in the shade, and with the wind it was starting to feel a bit chilly out there. So I am back inside. Sometimes I think there is more than 11 blue jays around, but they are very difficult to count accurately at times, they move in and out so fast and because there are still leaves on the trees it makes it hard to see how many are sitting up there. Then there are the chipmunks.
Being out there with them this morning I was better able to count them. There are 6 long tailed chipmunks, actually all the chipmunks are long tailed, but sometimes something happens to their tails, which is why 3 now have short tails. I don’t know what happened to their tails, but they got cut off anyway. Then there is one with a crooked tail, don’t know how that could happen either. Then there’s the one with a scratched up side, which I thought was Skamper, but it isn’t, Skamper was here this morning, he and Pocket are the two friendliest of the chipmunks. So that makes 11 chipmunks.
Scooter and Choco are the same size as the other chipmunks now, and they look the same, but Scooter is brave, Choco is not. Pocket and Skamper are the two top chipmunks. One poor chipmunk this morning came up, 2 other chipmunks were already getting sunflower seeds, but he joined in too. Then one of the first two chased him off, another chipmunk was just coming up and he started chasing that other chipmunk, then joined the other two still picking up seeds. That chased chipmunk then met another chipmunk who just came on the deck and he got chased again, so this time he just jumped off the deck!
That fourth chipmunk joined the other 3 and that started a chase scene with all 4 of them running, jumping and taking turns chasing each other. It was impossible to keep track of them, but finally 3 of them jumped off the deck. The winner went back to picking up seeds, but Coffee came along and chased him away. There were some interesting chases this week, I will share more soon. Time for another cup of coffee, and the chipmunks are looking for more food. Have a wonderful day everyone and God bless!

Thank you so much Venus, most of my problems with Covid have gone away, but some remain and do cause a lot of problems at times. I have a real problem with concentration, it takes me a very long time to write or read a post. Plus extreme fatigue is a real problem too, but I do get some good days as well where I feel almost normal, then it hits me again.
Hey, that sounds good! It will be great to have you back with your blog! I will follow as soon as you start up again, just let me know!
Muffin is doing great, she likes it now that it’s cooler, she is not a hot weather cat, even though she loves to sleep in the sun.
I can’t remember, do you live on the coast along the Mediterranean? Or are you further inland?
Have a beautiful day!๐๐บ๐ป๐โโ

You need to take good care of yourself , try to eat healthy and do a little exercise if possible , it helped a lot my mum when she catched covid and all of us actually. Hang in there you’ll get better soon ,
We have a cat too called Levie , and of course he likes cold weather too so that he can enjoy warmth. Yes I’m from Algeria and I live in Bรฉjaรฏa, a sunny coastal town .
Have a great evening my friend โค๏ธ

Taking care of myself is a hard one sometimes. It’s already been months and I’m still fighting some things from that Covid. It really devastated my body, and it’s slow coming back. Some days just getting out of bed is hard. I do try to exercise most days, even if just a little. I must admit, I don’t always do very good with eating right.
Sounds like it would be a beautiful place to live.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!๐๐ป

Yep, not much time left for these little critters before they tuck themselves in for the winter.

It took a few tries to get the blue jay on one foot picture. I have been trying to get something different, some oddity pics. I also have one now of a blue jay jumping so he’s in the air. I’m still trying for a good “take off” picture and almost got one the other day but he moved his position at the last second so I only got part of him!

Sorry to hear you also had covid, Steve! That delta variant is rough. I feel for you! Iโm just now getting back to normal. It really affected my lungs. I know exactly what you mean about the fatigue and feeling like you are better and then having a bad day. I will be praying for you!๐๐ผ

Thanks so much Renee! I appreciate your prayers. It’s been months now, it really devastated my body in different ways, but it does seem to be slowly getting better, some of the lasting symptoms are gone now so I hope the rest will disappear too.
