Tuesday’s Tails. #29

Good morning on this cloudy Tuesday! It is a very windy morning and it felt like a little freezing drizzle when I was outside feeding the birds. That is not good, it means that it will be more slippery than before. But, that is what happens in winter. It snows, it gets slippery, then it snows some more and things keep repeating all winter long. The chickadees just arrived as I was bringing the feeders out for them, good timing really. There are a lot of chickadees now. I have not seen any nuthatches yet this morning, which is odd. The blue jays have been here, but they are gone at the moment.

They will be back again however. The evening grosbeaks were here briefly and started eating. Then the rock doves (also known as pigeons) showed up and scared the grosbeaks away. Then the rock doves left as well. The grosbeaks came back, so did the rock doves. The grosbeaks left again, so did the rock doves. They have not been back since. It seems most of the chickadees have gone now too. So it is very quiet out there now. Redpolls keep flying around but have not stopped in to check out the feeders. But there is still an abundance of natural food.

Often the redpolls and pine grosbeaks won’t start coming to the feeder until January, unless the natural food is in low quantity. Muffin was in a wild playing mood this morning, she was just flying around the apartment. It is amazing how fast she goes sometimes, but she never knocks anything down even though she jumps on shelves and cabinets at top speed, including places with breakable items. She has never yet broken something while in her wild running times. Her human, on the other hand, can break things even when he is being careful. Sigh.

Her human is rearranging things in the apartment right now, making some fairly major changes. He figures that being inside so much that it is a good time to do such things. Now, he really is being careful and yet…crash! Sigh. Then he must stop what he is doing and clean up the mess before Muffin decides to come and investigate. Normally she stays in the bedroom when I get in one of my rearranging moods. She has learned. Her human does not learn as fast, so he keeps doing these strange things. He does, however, think carefully about what needs to be done, measures everything to make sure things will fit in their new positions, otherwise it can be a lot of work for nothing.

A snowy street by my place.

In case you don’t know, I do have a lot of “stuff”. I have shown some of it here for you to see, but there is more I have not shown. And this is a small apartment, just 360 square feet. So it is necessary to measure furniture carefully to make sure things will fit properly. It is crowded in here, but Muffin enjoys her “obstacle course” that she figures is made just for her. Yes, I know, moving furniture around does not really fit with Tuesday’s Tails. That is why I added Muffin in there too, now it fits. And there isn’t much happening outside. Oh well. I hope you have a wonderful day and God bless!

    • Red squirrels can be a problem for sure. Although some can be nice. It was a real slow day for birds here, even the chickadees were not around much. Might have been the strong wind. Yep, Muffin is a joy indeed! Have a nice evening!πŸ˜πŸ˜»πŸŒ™β˜•β˜•
