For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning everyone! So nice to see you again today. It is another bitterly cold morning. I really thought these kind of cold temperatures were behind us, but such is not the case. During the night were loud booms and bangs associated with frost in cold weather. One was so loud, just after Muffin and I had gone to bed, that I thought someone had hit my door with a baseball bat and was trying to break in. It sure made me jump out of bed in a hurry.
Muffin also jumped up and went up to the window to look around. But there was nothing out there. It was just cold making that noise. That was definitely the loudest I have heard in my time living here though. This morning it was -29F (-34C), but fortunately there was no wind. Still, that cold air was hard on the lungs as I went out to feed the birds. Poor little birds are once again hiding their legs and feet under their feathers to keep them warm.
But at least this cold weather is not staying around, next week we should be having temperatures in the 30sF (3 to 4C), so that will start to feel more like spring for a few days. I am looking forward to spring. Real spring where the snow is gone completely. Speaking of gone, I was thinking how interesting it would be to walk down to the river at night, as the temps get a bit warmer and before the bears are out of hibernation.
It would be an interesting walk. On a nice clear night with the moon shining. And down at the river with the moon reflecting on the water. It would be beautiful. It would be even nicer in the summer, however, in the summer there are bears around at night. So a night walk would be out of the question. For me at least. This time of year is different. I have gone walking in the forest at night during the winter before, but not around here, so I know what it is like.
I have done it in the summer as well, but again, not around here. I’m not saying I will do it, but it would be a fun and interesting walk. And perhaps getting some great river pictures. However, I was a bit healthier the last time I did that. Sigh. Oh well, I like to dream. I think it must be time for more coffee, would you like a cup? Thank you for reading, have a wonderful day and God bless!

Bad cold. It can make such a huge noise? π²π€ you should let the door open π€ͺ Birds Ever seen this birdπ§hiding its feet ? π€π€ͺ I saw this bird here a lotπ¦π. That is a perfectly narrated night to dream of, moon shining on the water in a dark nightπ₯°β€οΈ Yes, I would love a cup of coffee right now, even though I don’t take coffee much, right now I am having a bad headache π I need something π§. Hope all is well, stay warm Uncle Steve and keep dreaming, Dreaming is good πππ. Have a Good Day Muffin & Steve β¨π₯³

Yes, cold can make very loud noises at times! I thinkπ§ wear winter boots!ππΉ Thank you, it is nice to dream sometimes, even if the dream doesn’t come true, it is still good and relaxing and fun. I read one time that hitting your thumb with a hammer will cure a headache. Mainly because your thumb will be paining so much you won’t notice your headache!π§ππ¨ I have never tried it though. Doesn’t sound like fun! Hope your headache goes away soon. You’re not getting enough sleep. Have a good night Simon!ππ»ββππ

Glad I don’t have a hammer π€¨ thanks ππ€£ that was a great cure for headache. I’ll recommend it ππ€ͺ Got allergic to something or my sinus is back againπ§ this summer is terribly hot and I sweat bad, that also could be a reason for my headache. let’s seeπ Winter boots π€ͺπhaaa that’s right… like the ones you had right? π I have a summer boot and it’s invisible π Hope the day went well, enjoy your coffee and have a peaceful evening.π

that would be a nice walk, as long as the moon is nice and bright and the path is well worn!

Yes, a full moon, or nearly full, would give lots of light with all that snow around. It’s amazing really how well a person can see with that moon shining. Much better than in summer.

I would love to, but since I can’t walk very well anymore, I’m not sure if I should. But I’m thinking about it!π€π

It would be just as safe at night, with a full moon shining it would be easy to see. It would be great fun, with some nice pictures at the river too! But, alas, I likely won’t do it. Maybe. But it is a nice thought anyway.π€ππ»ππ·
