The Investigators, Inc. Sky’s Past Returns. Chapter 3. Kidnapped.

There I am, lying on the bed at the clinic, staring at the ceiling. I cannot move, except some small movement of my fingers. Muffin is lying beside me purring and Sky is standing beside the bed holding my hand. “You need to go back to the chateau,” I said, “it will be safer there.” “No, I am staying right here until you can leave here too,” she said, “you locked me in that library to keep me safe. Now I am locking myself in here to keep you safe.

Besides, Mr. B has told me all about our new clinic and it is built like a fortress, just as safe as our library. Plus, it is much bigger now, there is even a large indoor garden. Chung loves it, he can grow a lot of his special herbs in there, so he always has lots on hand. And I have a bed right there so I can be close by to help you. And Muffin will be here with us too.” Meow,meow.=Yep, me stay too so you get better faster. “Thank you Muffin,” I said, “but I might be in here for a long time.”

“We can do it, right Muffin?” she asked. Meow,meow.=Yep, no problem for us, there even special cat exercise room. MC and Storm will come visit too and we play in there. “Okay, you two, I give in,” I said trying to smile, “I really am glad that you are here right now Sky.” “Angel and Crystal will be coming soon with my clothes,” she said, “and they will take turns watching you so I can go exercise during the day.” “Good,” I said, “you need to keep in shape for our next case.”

“Absolutely,” she replied, “and Majori will be teaching me a bit about looking after you.” “Who is Majori?” I asked. Just then she came into the room. “I am Majori,” she said, “the new nurse here at the clinic. Since Sky will be here so much, we decided she needed to know how to look after your needs too.” Majori was a very pleasant woman, 30 years old and from France. We also have a new doctor named Saranna. She is from Canada and is 35 years old.

We also have two new people joining our team soon, a young woman named Sephira who is 29 and from France and a Swiss man named Erisman. He has been in the military and is an explosives expert as well as being excellent with many types of guns. He knows a lot about wilderness survival as well, so he will be teaching all of us his survival knowledge. He is 32. One of our team members, Ilda, was at home in Sweden visiting her family when all of this took place and has returned now and brought a friend.

Her friend, Astrid, would also like to join our team. She is the same age as Ilda, 27, and has some unique abilities that would be very useful for our team. But more on that at a later time. Right now, I need to get out of this hospital bed. But that will likely take some time. At least I know that Sky will be safe here at the clinic. But I am sure we have not heard the last of Carole Ann. Though I doubt she will try anything again too soon. I was certainly wrong with that idea.

Well, it has been a week now and things are improving quickly. I can now sit in a chair and get around in a wheelchair, the electric kind, so I do not have to push it. Unfortunately, my legs are not improving, I still cannot move them at all. The doctor, Saranna, and Chung, seem quite pleased with how things are going, so I guess I just need more patience. Two weeks have gone by now and my legs show no improvement, but the doctor does not seem concerned with it.

She says it can take a long time to get back to normal after what happened to me. More patience needed, not a strong point for me. Sky went back to the chateau today for some different clothes. I am glad she got out of here for a while. And she was heavily guarded. All the team members that were hurt are better now and back at the chateau. Then that dreaded alarm came through. It was a code A and a code A2. My heart sunk. Something happened to Sky. But how?

I found out soon enough. Seems the driver of the car was not one of Baldwin’s men, he had killed the real driver and taken his place. On the way back here, the car was stopped by two other cars and the driver made sure the doors could not be locked. The 4 guards with Sky were shot and Sky was kidnapped by Carole Ann’s men. But where did she take Sky? Carole Ann changes her location frequently so no one can find her easily. Our team was working hard to find her though. Mandar had his organization looking as well. John had an idea, though it likely would not work, but he tried anyway…
