Coffee For Friday. #28

Good morning to all of you and Happy Friday! It is a nice winter morning here, with a temperature of 17F (-8C), and according to the weather service, it is partly sunny. I am not sure which part is sunny, but here it is cloudy, and it has been that way all morning. Unless they include the part above the clouds, then they would be correct. What a difference from one day to the next.

Yesterday the chickadees were arriving before it was daylight, and today there were no birds around even after it was daylight. So strange. This is an odd winter with the birds. But that happens sometimes. I guess it does make winters more interesting when things change like that. Speaking of changes. Our weather is going to change suddenly this weekend. A cold advisory has been issued to last from this afternoon until Sunday afternoon.

Temperatures could drop down to the -27F (-32C) range, and perhaps continue right through until Tuesday. That is a little cold for this early in the winter. But it does happen sometimes. Today we are supposed to get a bit of snow. Sunday we are supposed to get a bit of snow. Oddly there is not much bird activity today, usually when there is snow coming, the birds are very active at the feeders. Maybe that means there is no snow coming. I like to dream.

There are some chickadees out there now, plus a couple nuthatches and a downy woodpecker. While I was putting the feeders out this morning, that flock of ducks flew overhead, going down to the river for a day of fishing. Then about 4:30pm they head back out onto the lake to sleep. There are at least 2 different flocks of ducks in the morning, one is larger than the other. But I never see more than one in the late afternoon. Perhaps some stay later than the rest.

Well, I got a good start on my dusting yesterday. Perhaps today I can get it all finished. I have a lot of stuff to dust. My apartment is not a typical apartment. It is full. Floor to ceiling. And there is not much floor to actually see. But I do like a full place. I am not an empty apartment type of person, or as people like to call it, minimalist. Some people like that. I am not one of those people.

I spend a lot of time indoors, especially in the winter about 95% of my time is indoors. It might even be more than that. I do not want to look at empty rooms. Having said that, I am downsizing a bit now. Just to make things a little easier for me. I should talk about downsizing sometime. Oh well. Time for an early lunch since I need to go out later. Have a fabulous Friday everyone and God bless!
