Coffee On Tuesday. #32

Good morning everyone! It is a milder morning today, a much more pleasant 10F (-12C). I know that might still seem cold where you live, but after the cold we had last week, this feels quite nice really. We also had a bit of snow overnight, just 1 and a half inches (3.75cm) of snow. But we are supposed to get a bit more today, along with some freezing drizzle, something that I really do not want.

That can make things very slippery at these temperatures. I am hoping that this milder weather might bring more birds around too, but there is not too many around this morning. The next couple of days will see temps getting even milder though, so hopefully that will help. And perhaps I can try for a walk to the river. It has been so long since I have been down there that it might be hard to walk the whole distance.

Betty the Blue Jay back in October.

But I will certainly give it a try. I just put out some more peanuts, I noticed the breakfast batch was gone. Suddenly there were blue jays out here, at least 8 of them, the most I have seen in two weeks. Plus there are lots of chickadees, 3 nuthatches and a downy woodpecker. I am sure glad those smaller birds are around, they come no matter what the weather. There seems to be only 3 nuthatches now, there was 5 of them before. I hope the shrike did not get them.

There are 2 hairy woodpeckers that come around, but usually in the afternoon. There are also 2 downy woodpeckers, but they seldom come at the same time. In both cases it is a male and female. I need to get back to my downsizing. I stopped for a bit over Christmas, but, time to get at it again. I should really take some “before and after” pictures of what I am doing, but that would be too scary to show anyone.

The after pictures would be okay. Oh well, maybe I will. But I probably will not. We shall see. I want to put caster wheels on my TV cabinet too. I have those things on a lot of my furniture, makes it easier to move things around, especially for cleaning purposes. I have a large cabinet I would like to put caster wheels on as well.

But that would not be easy to do, without help. I will probably leave that one off my list. But the TV cabinet gets done for sure, it is an easy one to do. Well, guess I better get at something, it has been nice talking with you. Have a great day and God bless!

    • We had a bit of freezing drizzle this evening, but with the snow on the deck there was no problem. Might get more overnight though as the temp should rise. Best not to take chances if its icy.

      • It was halfway between slush and ice, wheee the slush was starting to freeze again. Very slippery. I tried both sides of the street and it was a nope for me πŸ‘Ž So treadmill it was!

      • I’m grateful that I bought the treadmill last winter. It was a good investment. It sat in the corner of the basement for way too long and I’m finally using it again. It’s part of my New Years resolutions which I’m starting now instead of Jan 1st.

      • Good thinking! Resolutions can start anytime and usually last longer than ones started on New Year’s day. I wish I had space for a treadmill, perhaps when I move to a new apartment.

  2. It is slippery here as well…Blue Jays and chickadees are busy…no squirrels tho’…maybe it would be better not to try and walk to the river ! It is not worth it ! Sleep well tonight ! πŸ˜΄πŸ˜»πŸ™‚

    • Oh, I must get back to the river soon, or I likely never will again. Even though a summer walk is nicer, winter can be enjoyable too. Have a good night as well! πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜»πŸŒ›πŸ˜΄πŸ˜΄β„οΈβ„οΈ
