The Investigators, Inc. The Ringing Resort Case. Chapter 1. Starting Over.

There we were at this small cemetery, kneeling by 2 graves. We had come here to where Kat and Jennifer were buried, hoping I might remember something that would bring my memory back. But I could remember nothing about either one of them. “I guess it is time to go,” I said, “if you girls will help me get up.” “Someone is here to see you Steve,” said Crystal. I got up and turned around.

There was a man dressed in a nice suit, wearing dark glasses. Meow,meow.=It human Carver. We went over to him standing under a pine tree. “You look so different Carver,” I said, “but Muffin recognized you right away.” “That makes sense,” he said with a chuckle. “How did you find us?” I asked. “Simple, I stopped at the chateau first and asked,” he said, “but it seems to me you should have more protection with you, no offence ladies.”

“They are good protection,” I said, “man under maple tree to my left.” Crystal, Kristina and Carver all grabbed their guns and aimed at the tree. “Okay,” he said, “you beat me that time, but it was close.” The girls chuckled this time. “Do you think a guy like me can change Steve?” asked Carver. “Sure, if you really want to,” I said, “that is what you need, a desire to change.”

“Yeah, I got that,” he said, “the old Carver is finished now, I want to get back to a normal kind of life, on the right side of the law now. Any chance of working for you?” “Well, Rock is now in charge of the Investigators,” I said, “until, or if, I get my memory back.” “He is doing good,” said Crystal, “he can now remember clearly back to the time at the cabin when he lost his memory.”

“Yes, that is a great start,” said Kristina, “he just does not think so.” “Patience is the key Steve,” he said, “that is something I learned in my previous business.” “Would it not be dangerous for you now,” I said, “considering everything, I imagine there are people who would like to kill you.” “Yeah, lots of people,” he said, “so I talked things over with the Major and Victor and they have put out the news that Carver is dead, that he died in Canada.

Major also said that you can give people a new identity if they join your team. I am not asking for favors, Carver is finished no matter what, even if you say no.” “Well, you have my support,” I said, “but it is up to Rock and Baldwin now.” The girls also said he had their support as well. The cats said so too. Next we went to see Baldwin, and Rock was there too, which was perfect.

Baldwin called Annelie and said to start working on a new identity for Carver, right from the time he was born. Rock said he still had to pass the tests and they went to work on that right away. Oddly, I was able to remember a few things about Crystal and Kristina from before, yet nothing about Sky. Except one thing.

The first time we watched the video of our wedding and we got to the part where I said my vows to her, something I had written myself, I began to say them again and Sky paused the video and we looked at each other until I was finished. She was crying by the time I was finished speaking. So were all the other girls for some reason. But that is all I could remember of our wedding. Sky said it was enough.

Both Sky and Sigurbjorn are doing well now and back home again. So is MC. It has been a month and I have had my second dose of my medication. I was only given a half dose the first time, and again this time. That was suggested by the doctor who worked on this antidote in the first place with Chung. Oddly, I remember some things about Chung as well. But otherwise, my memory is not coming back.

So I may need to just start over again, which seems okay to me. Our newest team member, Logan Macallister, or Mac as we usually call him, is doing well with the team and passed his tests very nicely. Rock thinks I should take the leader position again since I do not have any memory problems with the present. For now, though, I was made the second leader.

Sky and I are heading out to a nice quiet resort for our honeymoon, Muffin and MC are coming too, plus 6 of the girls as guards. It was a beautiful resort on a tropical island. A great place to relax. But on our first night we heard this strange ringing sound, which kept us awake for an hour…

  1. Perhaps building a new memory is the best way to go. You can build new emotional memories that you will remember. I think Mac will be a good addition to the team.

  2. 😂 I am glad the cats noticed that they were not included in the ones who were to protect you ! 😼😼 So Carver is back on the scene …hmmm…and that your memory is slowly returning ! 🙂 Something is about to happen and it is not good ! 🤔 research your team again ! Of course it will be all new to you because of the memory loss…take care ! 🕵️‍♂️👩👩‍🦰👩‍🦰👩‍🦱😼😼

    • Yep, Carver is back, as Mac now, our newest team member and I am sure he will be valuable to us. Well, only my memory of recent things has returned, but not my past. Hopefully that will return too eventually. The team is fine right now which is good since I need to rely on them more than ever. The important thing right now is what is happening at the resort, which is likely not a good thing. We shall see.🤔👩😺😺🕵️‍♂️

  3. Good to know the graves were from the past not the present and everyone is recovering . Sky must be doing well if she is on the honeymoon. Too bad you can’t go anywhere for fun without a some criminal activities to disrupt things. It would be nice to be able to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Carver or Mac will be good for your team. Glad to see you gaining more memory and not being violent.

    • Things are moving along with my memory, though only in the present really. Yes, nice we can finally get our honeymoon, Muffin and MC too finally! Yes, it does seem something bad is happening at the hotel, but perhaps not too bad. We will still try to enjoy ourselves too. Yes, I think Mac will be a good help for the team. It is good I do not have any violent tendencies this time, perhaps because I lost my memory completely this time. I do hope it comes back though.🤔👩😺😺🕵️‍♂️
