For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning everyone! How about enjoying a cup of coffee with me this morning? It is a cloudy, humid morning here and we are supposed to get some thunderstorms later today. We should also get to see the sun a bit now and then too. And it is staying nice and warm this week, so very nice, even though showers and thunderstorms will also be with us each day.
But it was starting to get quite dry out there so getting some moisture will be a blessing. We do not want to dry out and start getting forest fires like so many other parts of the country are getting right now. And it does dry out very fast in this area since we do not have much soil to hold onto moisture. Although we sometimes like to have nothing but sunshine, that is not always a good thing.

Those rainy days are very necessary too. And, as I have mentioned before, the same is true in our own lives. We need those rainy days to help us grow strong, but we also need sunshine. The two combined give us all we need. Sometimes we need more sunshine, and sometimes we need more rainy days and we can be assured that what we get is exactly what we need. God knows what is best for us.

It has been quite quiet around here lately, not many birds are coming to visit these days. They are busy with nesting right now and those babies need bugs more than they need seeds. Bugs give them the complete nourishment that they need to grow healthy and strong. The parents will bring some seeds back to them as well once the babies get old enough.
The male Hairy Woodpecker is busy chopping up peanuts to take back to his babies. I am sure he is still bringing insects home too, but the babies must be getting old enough now to handle the peanuts. A Red-eyed Vireo is singing nicely out there right now, that is the first time I have heard him this year. They are one of the last birds to come back from the south each year.

Here he is again pecking open a sunflower seed.
Yesterday I was able to get some pics of baby Canada geese. They were still quite small so it was nice to get their pics. I will show them tomorrow. Today is blue Tuesday, kind of like blue Monday. But for me I do not look at a blue day as a negative, but rather a positive. As you know, I love the color blue, so when I say a blue day, I mean a great day.

Here is the other ‘baby’.
Yes, I know, I am a bit strange that way. And for those who have asked, I do like other colors as well, such as brown. Blue and brown have been my favorites since I was a kid. Oh well, guess I should stop for now. Thank you for visiting, have a great day everyone and God bless!
