For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning and Happy Friday once again to all of you! Do you have time for some coffee today? Good, so glad you could stop by and visit with us this morning. Muffin and I always enjoy seeing you here. It is a nice sunny morning so far, though clouds are moving in quickly and more rain is in the forecast for later today.
We certainly had a lot of rain yesterday, but I have not heard if the forest fires received that rain as well. Hopefully they did as that would really help to slow them down. When it is not raining I like to be out chasing insects with my camera. There are a lot of butterflies around this year which is nice to see.

This is the Northern Pearly-eye, just light and dark browns, but very beautiful.
Their numbers do fluctuate from year to year. Trying to get pictures of all the different species I see, however, is certainly not an easy thing. Butterflies generally do not cooperate too well and like to stay flying around instead of sitting. And when they do sit, they are usually too high up for a good picture.
But, I have been doing very well this year, even though I have lost some. There are still some that I am chasing and maybe today I will get one or two of them. Before it rains again. Some, like the Northern Pearly-eye that I am showing today, are only around for a brief time, this one was only here one afternoon. I got its pictures between showers.

This is the White Admiral from underneath with the sun shining on top of it.
There was another butterfly which was around for only one afternoon, but I did not get a picture of that one. Then there was another butterfly that was here for 2 weeks and I still did not get a picture of it, though I did try numerous times. It just would not sit down. That was so sad. Hopefully I will not miss anymore.
Speaking of missing. That raccoon was back last night and he drank all of the hummingbird food again. Sigh. Fortunately I still had a small amount left which I put out this morning, then I made some more, homemade style, not store bought style. Crazy raccoon.

And this is the Red Admiral, a bit beat up, but still beautiful. There are a lot around this year.
Oh well. Guess I should go try for more pics while the sun still shines. Have a fantastic Friday everyone and God bless!
Steve and Muffin.
