The Investigators, Inc. The Case of the Murdered Parents. Chapter 2. Loon and 6 Cats.

Well, here it is, day 2 after waking up and I am still in bed, doctor’s orders. I feel fine though and hopefully today I can get up and walk around a bit, although there is one problem…my legs. Sometimes I can move them a bit, other times not at all. It seems this virus attacks the legs for some reason, which is why Sky, Annelie and Tracy are in wheelchairs now.

Angel, Sigurbjorn and Astrid are doing much better, one day made a big difference. And their legs seem to be fine, which is also a good thing. The guys should be back from their fishing trip later today, that is also good. Right now Storm, Snow and Tiia are on the bed with me while I tell them my dream, a dream that seemed so real.

About a case we were on in Finland about a deserted tower. Muffin left to visit the girls, she does not like anything to do with castles and such, they might have ghosts in them, and she does not like ghosts, even though she has never seen one. But the other three were enthralled with the whole dream, giving out ooooo and ohhhhh and ahhhhhh!

And when I told about Kat getting out of the shackles without unlocking them they all said together, ‘wow, she really is ghost!’ “Remember guys,” I said, “this is just a dream, there was no tower, no people, no shackles, none of it was real, but it sure seemed real to me.

Meowr.=You tell it like it real too, sound great to me. The kittens said so too. The Case of the Deserted Tower, was just a dream, I thought to myself. Now I will never know how it ended! Right then Kat came into the room. “Okay cats, time to visit the girls again,” she said, “they look forward to your visits you know.” Off they went in a flash.

“You handle them better than I do,” I told her. “We ghosts have our ways,” she said smiling. “You never give up on that,” I said, “everyone will be believing it soon.” “Except you of course,” she said, “to you I am nobody.” “Not true,” I said, “you are Kate Saunders and you did a magnificent job of studying all about Kat’s life so you could be her to avenge her death.”

“Hmm, I notice you did not say ‘pretend to be her’,” she said. “True, if you were pretending, you might make a mistake,” I said, “so you became Kat, totally, so that Toledo would know it was Kat that came back.” “Very good Steve,” she said smiling again, “I am Kat, through and through. But I am Kate Saunders. And I should probably leave once everyone is back on their feet.”

“No, please do not leave,” I said, “you bring something to this team that is very important, we need you here with us. I cannot force you to stay, but I do ask you to stay. Please.” “What about Steve?” she asked. “Yes, Steve needs you here too,” I said, “but my love for Sky will never change, so do not worry about that.” She smiled.

“Okay Steve,” she said, “I will stay.” Sky came in at that moment. “Yes, I was listening at the door,” she admitted, “I agree with Steve, “I need you to stay too.” Kate smiled again. We then talked for a while until the doctor came in to check on me again. Our doctor is actually Mandar’s personal doctor, we needed someone we could trust. But we will have to find another doctor for our team. Li Jing is a good doctor but she needs help looking after this team.

It is now day 3 and I am up and walking around, but a bit weak after being in bed for 2 weeks. The guys are back now, so they all came to my room with Rock so we could talk about things. Our lawyers got the house transfer on hold while we investigate the deaths of this couple. The judge felt there was enough evidence to suggest it may have been murder, so he allowed the hold until after our investigation.

Some of us will be ready to go in a couple of days to begin. Then a man showed up, a friend of Mac, which he had told me about. He wants to get out of his “business” and turn his life around, and hopefully join us. We all talked with this man, whose name was Loon. Just a nickname, like Mac. I told him our rules and we would have to vote on him.

If it was yes then we would give him a whole new life and he was okay with that, he did not mind waiting. I brought the 6 cats in, plus Sky, to meet with Loon first, to get their impressions, and they were 100% in favor. There are 4 cats, plus Kat and Catalina, who is referred to as the 6th cat. Now, this new case…
