For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Hello everyone and Happy Friday to you! What a change in the weather. Yesterday was mainly sunny and warm with high of 79F (26C), not exactly hot, but we have only had 2 hot days all month. Today it is cloudy, windy and very cool. It might reach a high of 72F (22C) today. It seems the main part of our summer was back in June. But that is what happens usually, if hot summer weather comes early, then that will be our summer, the rest of summer will generally be cool and wet.
It does not always work that way, but generally it does. However, it is still nice, each day is a beautiful day, especially when there is no snow on the ground. The cooler weather, like today, does knock me down a lot health wise though. So it is hard to do things. Minor details. I like to enjoy each new day as it comes. There are always things to do and the beauty of nature abounds all around us.

Country pleasures. Whether we live in the country or live in a town or city, country pleasures can be found. One beautiful country pleasure is sitting beside a lake, like the one pictured in the featured image at the top, or a river, which is where I would normally sit.
Either way it is beautiful and a great place to enjoy some solitude. Watching a bumble bee on a flower, all covered with pollen, that is a true country pleasure. But try not to disturb it, being stung is certainly no pleasure.

Then there is a friendly little squirrel that comes and takes a peanut from my hand. Though he is not quite as brave as the chipmunks who will sit on my lap. But that squirrel is a country pleasure too.

White Pelicans sunning themselves.
And then there are the pelicans, yes, it is a different picture than the one I showed recently. And sometimes they fly overhead, circling ever higher, or coming down ever lower. They are beautiful, majestic birds, and a real country pleasure.

White Pelicans soaring high. They are huge birds about 62 inches (155cm) long with a wingspan of up to 9 1/2 feet (about 290cm).
Then there is the small song sparrow, not very colorful, but he has a cheery, wonderful song that he will sing from early morning to late evening. I think that song is a real country pleasure as well.

Country pleasures. We can find them, but we must look for them and then enjoy them. Thank you for reading, enjoy the pics, have a fabulous Friday and God bless!
