For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning and Happy International Cat Day! Muffin is already walking around with her little crown on. But she wears that most days. I think perhaps I should make her a real crown for her to wear. But she does have one just the same, and she always lets me know when she has it on. Which, as I just mentioned, is most of the time.
However, she will get some special treatment today anyway. I did not get much sleep last night. I got to bed much later than I wanted, then I had to get up a couple of times because my back would not let me sleep. Then at 2:50am my clock gave a single, long beep. That told me the power was off. Good thing it was at night.

I woke up again at just before 5am and decided to stay up. It was getting light anyway. Quite a difference in the length of our days already, getting shorter all the time. Still no electricity. But it did finally come back on around 6am. The bear came back Friday night, forgot to mention that before. He was back again last night too. He likes my deck.
I wish he did not like it quite so much. That is why I was up later than usual last night. He is big and getting bigger all the time. I am sure he must be close to 600 pounds now. That is just too big. When he walks around on the deck I can feel the vibrations inside. Muffin decided the bathroom was the best place to be when the bear came around.

Guess there are no berries left to eat so he has come back looking for food again. I try to make sure there is no food sitting around out there at night. I wanted to go out and chase him off the deck again, but the last time I tried that he just stood there and snorted at me. I guess when you get to be that big, why run?
And since I am no where near 600 pounds, I decided it was best to stay indoors this time. Black bears can be very dangerous and are actually more unpredictable than any other bear species. At least here in North America. They also attack people more often than any other bear species. And it is lone male bears that are the most dangerous. Like the one that comes onto my deck.

Can you see the “evil face pattern” on the back of this wasp?
Well, this is my 28th move coming up. Yesterday I was counting my boxes. Thought I had enough, but I really do not, and there is not much time to find boxes now. This could be interesting. I also need some extra large boxes, for some lighter weight, but odd sized items. That will not be easy. I could try moving them without packing them, but I have tried that before. It has not worked out well.
Things get broken much too easily that way. And these are antique items which cannot be replaced. Oh well, I will think of something. Please do not think I am complaining about this move, I am not. I am looking forward to it. The packing part is not so much fun, though at one time I really enjoyed that too. Unpacking is easy. Messy. But easy.

Finding helpers to move my furniture is going to be the hard part. I have heavy furniture. Most I have made myself and it is solid wood and solidly made. Oh my, I need to get packing, I have not even begun yet, but I will today. Have a wonderful day everyone and God bless!

Steve, you have certainly moved a number of times. The black bear sounds troublesome, due to no fear of humans. Happy packing go well with Muffin getting brave and coming out of the bathroom. Around where I live, over the years there have been a few bears that broke the window or door and came inside to enjoy themselves. Enjoy your birds and critters, while you pack!

Yes, that bear is just too comfortable and relaxed around people now, and that can make them dangerous. He could certainly get inside here easily enough if he wanted to. Many of my regular birds are returning now for me to enjoy for a few more days. Oddly my chipmunks are not around much, and I have so many peanuts to get rid of! Seems to be only a couple of them coming now, very odd.ππΈπ€πΏοΈπΏοΈ

The packing is moving along slowly, but I will pick up the pace next week when I have some help.
So glad you see the mean face, I think you were the only one to say so!ππΈπ
