From The Heights. #4

Good morning and Happy Saturday to all of you! Here I sit once again, with my coffee, watching the morning wake up. Definitely not as much traffic early on a Saturday morning. Guess most people like to sleep later on Saturday. Unless they have kids. Or pets. At least Muffin let me sleep later this morning too. She did not wake me up until 5:11am, which is not bad at all.

That is almost my normal time to get up anyway. That would be 5:30 in case you are wondering. And if you were not wondering, you know now anyway. I heard a blue jay calling this morning, and some geese flew past, but I have not seen or heard any other birds this morning. Oh, I see a gull flying around right now, a ring-billed gull, that is always nice to see.

Part of the living room. Still work to do but it is looking a lot better now. Muffin’s scratching post is in the middle of the room.

They can soar effortlessly on those air currents for hours. I am going to share a couple of pics of the apartment here today. It is starting to look more normal in here though there is still lots to do, especially getting all the shelves done with their proper displays. But the boxes are gone in here now and I put an area rug on the floor.

The bedroom needs a bit more work done and there are still 6 boxes in there that need to be unpacked. I have an area rug for the bedroom too. I found it hard on my back walking around on a cement floor all the time, so the area rugs will help a bit with that. Otherwise I have to wear my hiking shoes all day long. They are well cushioned so they help my back too.

But I do not like to wear them inside all day. Although I might end up doing that anyway since I cannot put carpet everywhere. The area rugs help Muffin too. She had stopped playing and running around because she would slip and slide too much on the tile floor. She likes the carpet better and we had a good playtime this morning. I had just put down the area rug last night.

Hopefully I can get the one put down in the bedroom today. That one will be a bit harder to do since there is quite a bit that needs to be moved out of the way. It is cloudy again today, supposed to be showers most of the day and tomorrow too. Yesterday’s high temp was 60F (15.6C), today and tomorrow should be about the same. One day this week the temp dropped to just 38F (about 3C).

Fall is definitely with us. Trees continue to change color and some have already dropped all, or most, of their leaves. I have not seen any of the deer around lately, I have been hoping to get more pics of them. I am sure they will return again. Well, time for more coffee and start to get that bedroom in order.   1. Goodness! No wonder you needed a few extra hands.. those shelves look very heavy. It’s looking nice though.
    And look at Muffin—so sweet.

    • Yes, now that things are looking more like home again it does seem to have helped Muffin feel better. Thanks Katherine, still things to be sorted out and put in their proper place, then I will share more pics of the whole apartment. Maybe.

      • Hi Steve, I’m happy to hear that! I’m sure things will work out and you will be at peace.

        Yeah, my weekend was slower than usual since I had to recover from the cold. I lost a lot of weight and now I’m dealing with a cough. I’ll get there, God is on my side.

      • Yes, I’m sure I will like living here, even though there will be many changes to deal with. But, life is constant change and it only becomes a problem when we try to fight it.
        Sorry to hear you have that cough, that is always hard. Yes, God will give you the strength needed day by day.

  6. I know how Muffin feels. My Rabbit won’t go anywhere ther is no carpet for fear she won’t have traction to get away from the hawks in my house. I’ve never seen any inside hawks, but we’re not taking any chances. 🤣😎🙃
