For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning everyone! It was clear earlier this morning, but now it is cloudy once again. However, it is fall, so this is quite typical. So is the temperature, which is quite cool. Yesterday morning we had quite a heavy frost and even at 10am the frost was still on the grass. We had frost this morning too, but not so heavy as yesterday.
That frost should get the last of the leaves changing color quickly, so hopefully I can get some pics before those leaves drop also. The deer seem to be quite busy around town right now, feasting on all that nice grass before winter comes. Grass and leaves are definitely their favorite foods, though they eat a lot of other things too, including most everything in gardens.

A rather odd shaped mushroom, not sure what it is though.
People are generally not too happy with that last part. But the deer are just doing what comes naturally and it is hard for them to resist all those fresh veggies. Late summer and fall are great times for mushrooms around here. It is amazing the number of varieties we have growing in this area, from edible to poisonous.
It is fun to photograph all of them and I have quite a collection of mushroom, and other fungus, photos now. Some are very plain, while some are quite colorful. Some of the most poisonous are actually quite plain, opposite to what I would have expected. But some of the most colorful, or odd shaped, can also be poisonous. A person needs to be very careful if they want to try eating wild mushrooms.

A nice view of color.
However, taking pictures of them is a great way to enjoy them, and it is also safer. As I mentioned, I have a lot of mushroom photos and I am going to start showing them and talking a bit about some that I have identified. I am back finally and it is no longer morning, but mid afternoon. Sigh. I needed to make a trip to my bank to get some things straightened out.
As you know I moved last month, so it was necessary to give the bank my new address. Who would think that would cause such a problem? I started this 2 weeks ago and just finally got things resolved today. With the kind help of our assistant manager, and even she had a hard time. The problem was not with my own bank branch, but with the head office which is some 1400km away, but still in our province.

Beautiful in bright red.
They did not like it for some reason and they put a hold on my account until we got this cleared up. Sigh. The assistant manager was great, however, and only because of her did this get straightened out. I thank God she was in the office today. Anyway, when I got back home other things needed to get done so it took a while to return here. I hope you all have a wonderful day and God bless!

That mushroom has a funny shape. I took manynpictures of mushrooms myself during the long weekend. Fall us usually the best time to see them. Looking forward to see more of your pictures ! I’m glad for you that you resolve the issue with the bank.

Yes, fall is indeed the best time, though we do have some spring mushrooms too. Only a few seem to show up in summer.
Thanks, that bank issue was starting to be stressful.
Have a great day!ππΊππ

In summer, it depends on the weather. I’ve seen a good deal this year with all the rain, but it is not usual.

Yes, more rain does certainly help. Here it is usually too dry in summer for them.
