For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Hi everyone! Such weird weather we are having right now. Last evening it was snowing heavily until we had about 2 inches (5cm) more snow. Then it stopped, the temperature rose and this morning it is raining. All that new snow seems to have melted now, everything is wet, then it will freeze tonight and it will all be ice tomorrow.
But then next week we will be enjoying some very nice warm days which will likely melt the remainder of our snow. This is not really something new, but it does not happen very often. I am not a fan of winter, as you know, but once winter arrives I prefer the temp to stay below freezing, that way it helps to prevent all that ice. Ice is dangerous. Oh well.

Remember Theodora? That wild turkey was the largest bird I ever had on my bird feeder!
This kind of weather also bothers my arthritis a lot more. And other things. Muffin was in a very playful mood this morning. Perhaps a result of the weather too? She is having her morning nap now, but will likely wake up soon for lunch. I was hoping to work on my table today, but I might have to wait. With my arthritis so bad, as well as my back, I think it would be best to wait a bit.

She was still around last winter too.
I am quite surprised at how lumpy and bumpy the floor is in here. That will make things a little difficult, but manageable. Then there is the finish for the table. I would like to stain it, then put urethane on it, like I have done with my other furniture. However, that smells a lot, and that smell will venture down the hall and into other apartments. People might not like that.
Otherwise I have to wait for next summer to do it on the balcony. However, protecting the table until then, could be hard to do. Or I could paint it. I do not mind painted furniture. I have one antique cabinet that is painted blue and I really like it. So I could paint the table the same color, and they would match. Then I could do it now.

A male Evening Grosbeak watching me.
Oh well, I will wait until it is finished before deciding on that one I guess. This morning has gone by way too fast. Time for lunch already. I hope you enjoy the winter bird pics from previous years. Have a great day everyone and God bless!
Steve and Muffin.

I don’t know why the floor is bumpy, it is cement, but they did not make it very smooth. Just little bumps, but I was quite surprised to see them here.š¤ Yes, I have painkillers to help.š I can walk quite nicely back and forth in the long hallway so that is nice! Enjoy your day Simon!šš»āāāļøāļø

Steve, thank you for sharing some of your wildlife photos. Winter won’t be arriving here for quite some time. I definitely agree with your feelings about ice.

I’m happy you enjoyed them Richard! Our winter might be leaving us, at least temporarily, next week as the temperature will rise into the 40s and I’m sure the last of our snow will melt.š¤ A lot melted this week with all the rain we had. Froze today and it is very icy outside again!š¬šā
