The Investigators, Inc. The Mysterious Catch Me Case. Chapter 6. Charly.

Well, we did find out that our hit man is Gibson Crandel, a well known hit man from the US. But why bring someone over to Europe when they have excellent hit men here? This Angelica woman is from nowhere that we could find. She is not part of that Swedish outfit anyway, but that could make things worse for us. It means there are 3 players right now that are out to get us.

That is more than we have ever had to deal with at one time. But is Reggie really here and mixed up in this? Or is this Gibson guy just using Reggie’s name? Perhaps we will find out something from these 3 girls we just picked up. But I am not too optimistic about that. While we had all 3 together they just remained silent. So Baldwin, Mandar and I met together to talk about things.

“I say split them up in different rooms,” said Mandar, “sometimes getting them away from their friends will open their mouths.” Baldwin and I agreed. “Kat, take this one to room 5,” I said coldly, “Kera and Catalina, take that one, Galyna and Crystal, take the last one to room 7. Do what is necessary to make them talk.” They all left and each group took one of the cats with them. But not Muffin, she stays with me.

“Do not say one word Charly,” said one of the women to the one going with Kat, “or you know what will happen to you!” Kera slapped her very hard, knocking her against the wall. It was easy to tell she wanted to kill Kera right away. It was quite comical though, her telling Charly not to talk and she goes and gives us the name of that one with Kat. “Check on Charly,” I said to Annelie.

After a while she gave me her life history, she was not a member of any gang, not even the Swedish one. We seem to be running into dead ends all the time. How is that possible? There was one thing missing in her life, however, she had no criminal past. For that matter she did not even have a speeding ticket or parking ticket. Plus she had a very good education, having a degree in counseling, geology and forestry.

That first one did not seem to fit with the other two. And, she got those degrees in half the usual time. That says a lot about her, except why would she be involved with a group like this one? I told these things to Kat when she came out for a pretend break. She left Rusty in the room with Charly while she was gone. “Watch her Rusty,” said Kat, “but do not hurt her, unless she tries to get out, then stop her.”

He meowed in response. Charly looked a bit confused, but she also became nervous while Rusty just sat there staring at her. She started to cry a little, “please Rusty, stop looking at me like that.” Rusty jumped onto her lap and put his head to one side, then the other. That relaxed Charly a bit and she began to pet Rusty. Then she smiled and said, “want to talk?”

Meow?=Okay, what you want to talk about? The look on her face was priceless as she tried to climb up the wall backwards from her chair. We were watching the whole thing. “Oh, wait,” she said, “your owner is talking to me through your collar, it probably has a microphone in it.” Meow?=Why you say that? You want to talk with me you said, it me that talk with you, not collar.

“Um, cats do not talk,” she said after a long silence. Meow.=I am cat and I talk, where you get information? Must be old dated or something. Just then Kat returned. Meanwhile, somewhere else. “Those girls you sent to pay me,” said Gibson, “that PI group caught all 3 of them.” “How did they know about them?” asked Angelica, “Have they found out about you?”

“Not a chance,” he said, “no one ever finds me, I make sure of that. But they are PI’s, and good ones at that, so I am sure they can find out things.” “Okay,” she said, “forget the orders I just gave you, get those girls, and quickly. According to our records, two of them are likely ones to talk if pressured enough.” “Okay,” said Gibson, “but it will cost more.”

“Fine, I will double your next payment,” she said, “triple if you get it done today.” “It will get done,” said Gibson. “Your next payment will be at that little park again, bench 2,” said Angelica. “Fine,” he replied, and she hung up. He then called me. While on the phone with Gibson, Alfred came in and told us that Sten had been shot while outside exercising.

He was still alive so Sky rushed him to our clinic with a couple girls from Team 5. There really is 3 different enemies. Ginger came running inside with a note she found on a tree. “Big men are so easy to hit, shame on them. Hmm, maybe your wife will be next Steve, would you like that? I know I would like it. Until next time, Craig Masters.” We have 2 helicopters in the air all day long searching for this guy and he still gets through to kill…
