For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
WINTER HOUSES
Winter houses, all in a row,
Silent they sit, covered with snow.
Smoke from chimneys, curling so high,
A charming scene, which makes me sigh
With such delight, I stay a while
To gaze upon this sight, and smile.
Little children, sliding they go,
Having such fun, play in the snow.
Snowflakes do fall, lazy they swirl,
Slowly they dance, sudden they twirl.
So big are they, as each does land,
Gently they fall, upon each hand.
Full of wonder, this snowy sight,
Then goes to sleep, with coming night.
