From The Heights. #50

Good morning everyone! Well, it is the day before the day before Christmas. This year has gone by so fast! It has been a busy year too. It started back in January and continued right to this month. In between so many things happened, so many changes and so much paperwork. 

Well, that takes care of my year end review. There was a lot to write about this year compared to other years. This morning it continues to be mild with a temperature of 32F (0C) and it is cloudy with heavy fog. It is supposed to get into the low 40s (6C) today, amazingly mild for this time of the year. 

This is where the path first meets the river.

It has been a great winter so far with only a few cold days. This is very much like the winter of 2020/21, as I mentioned one other time. We have about the same amount of snow, which is practically nothing and same temperature range. It will be interesting to see if that continues.

We did not have much snow that winter at all which made for such nice walking down to the river all winter. It did get somewhat colder in January and I think February was our coldest month that winter. But it was so nice to sit and look out over the river that winter, watching the ducks swimming around and fishing. 

There were eagles flying around at times too, which the ducks did not like so much. Those eagles would catch those ducks at times, but they would look for fish as well. It can be nice walking to the river in winter, for one thing, there are no bears around to worry about. That is a big plus for sure.

It can be cold though. The coldest day that I actually walked to the river was -30F (about -35C), and there was a wind that day too, so it felt colder. I have picked out a few photos from my walk on January 7, 2021 to show today. I am sure that most of you have a lot to do this weekend, so I will keep this short.
