The Investigators, Inc. The Case of Carole Ann’s Return. Chapter 13. Crushed.

Carole Ann and Jim went upstairs to the photo store above the studio to meet the two people wanting jobs as models. They opened the door and Carole Ann just stood there and stared at Rock. “Are you for real big boy?” she asked. “Uh, yeah, I guess so,” answered Rock, “think I will make a good model for you?” “You would be a perfect model,” said Jim.

“He was talking to me,” Carole Ann reminded him, “but he is right, you would be perfect for the job. However, I also need a bodyguard. The pay is better and there are a lot of nice perks that go with the job. As a model you would get $8,000 per month, as my bodyguard you would get $12,000 per month and that is US dollars.”

“Hoooweeee!” boomed Rock (that was the cue for the rest of the team to come in), “you definitely need a bodyguard Carole Ann.” At that point the team came rushing into the store. Rock grabbed Carole Ann who was about to run downstairs again and he tossed her toward Penny (she was the woman who came in with Rock).

The man behind the counter pressed a warning button, then pulled a gun out, but Penny shot him before he could shoot anyone. Rock and the guys went rushing downstairs, followed by the girls, all except Kat. She stayed behind to deal with Carole Ann. “Get up,” said Kat. Carole Ann was still on the floor where Rock had tossed her.

“I am unarmed!” she screamed, “You cannot kill me or it would be murder!” She then laughed, until she noticed something. “Wait!” she exclaimed, “It is you again, the dead woman!” “Yes, I am back again,” said Kat, even though it was Jennifer last time, “and it is impossible for a dead woman to be charged with murder, because I really do not exist anymore.

You are a very cruel and evil woman Carole Ann, I know what you did to Sky before and you have done the same things to many others over the years. How many women do you have in chains right now in this little studio of yours? And what about your other studios in NYC, San Francisco, London, Toronto and a couple other cities too? Every one of them will be crushed and never open again.”

“My brother will crush your team if you touch me!” she exclaimed, “Let me go and I will give you $1,000,000!” “A dead woman does not need money Carole Ann,” said Kat. Then Kat kicked her in the stomach, then to the head and Carole Ann fell to the floor dead. Downstairs there were many gunshots and when that stopped there was still a lot of fighting going on.

Kat decided to go and see if she could help. The girls had found 6 women and 2 young girls chained to beds in some small rooms. Penny found some keys in the office and they soon had everyone freed from their chains. They took them all outside to their vans until the police arrived to pick them up. Carole Ann and her “animals”, plus one of her brothers were now dead.

Also, Christopher was dead because he tried to help her. But, the smartest of Carole Ann’s brothers was still around, somewhere, and he vowed to get even with me some day. Also, there was one of her “animals” that managed to escape since he was with her brother at the time and the two decided it was better to run than to fight right at that moment.

There are still a couple of uncles yet as well, if they decide to get involved, that is something we do not know. Then there is still Majori, but she seems to have gone into hiding for now and that is fine with me. But this case with Carole Ann is over, and Sky will not have to worry about her anymore. No one scared Sky like Carole Ann and considering what she went through, that is understandable.

Sky and I have now legally adopted both Honey and Agata, that way both girls can stay in the same family which will be a big help to them. Both girls have a lot of growing to do, emotionally, to catch up to their true ages.

I wonder what our next case will be like? Will one of our enemies show up again, or will something different happen this time? Maybe even something normal. Okay, normal for us might never happen again, but we can always hope.
