For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning everyone and welcome back! Time for a coffee, sit around the fire and… okay, I do not have a real fire, but I have a fake fire. Not quite the same thing, I know, but better than nothing. But I digress. Where was I? Oh, right, getting a coffee and… I better go do that, mine has gotten cold, and I am not much for cold coffee.
Cold tea is fine, but I like my coffee to be hot, nice and hot. Not cold. Like it is now. But I digress. I will be right back. I’m back again, that did not take too long, did it? Anyway, it is a beautiful, sunny morning again, although still kind of cold and it will be colder tonight again. But, tomorrow it begins to warm up a bit and next week the temps should be in the low to mid 40s F (5 to 7C) and that should be the real beginning of our spring.
Thought I would share a few parting photos of winter from last year.
This little bit of snow we have will melt fast. I doubt there is even 4 inches (10cm) of snow out there. The long range forecast is for warmer and drier than normal for April and May. If that holds true then we could have an early start to our forest fire season. That part is not good. Having an early spring this year is good though. I like that part.
They seem to be working on the apartment next door, getting it ready for a new tenant. The lady that was living there is now in a nursing home. Hard to believe that I have been living here for 7 months already. Time flies, like an arrow. Fruit flies, like a banana. Hmm, they are testing the fire alarm again. I have said it before, I will say it again, that thing is loud!
We really did not have enough snow for pictures this winter, much of the time we had no snow at all.
An extremely loud, ear piercing whistle! Except in the hallways where it is a loud clanging bell. I prefer the bell to this whistle. There it goes again. There are always two long whistles about 5 minutes apart. Then they will do some short whistles, then a final whistle about 15 minutes later. This happens once a month. In between there are all the false alarms, mainly people burning their meals.
Or, like the guy across the hall who decided to use his barbeque inside because it was too cold outside. It was an electric barbeque, gas ones are not allowed, but it was very greasy and the smoke set off the alarm. Hmm, that was the first short whistle.
Here is a weird looking snowy creature I spotted on a walk last winter.
Anyway, the building maintenance and fire department were not very happy with the guy across the hall so he is not allowed to use it indoors anymore. Makes sense. Guess that was the final alarm letting us know they are finished. Well, that is all for today, thanks for stopping by. Have a great day and God bless!

Hmm, Steve. But you don’t seem too happy about what you already have.
My challenge for you today is to find the things you’re grateful for. And share them in this comment βοΈ.

I don’t understand, the post was about my morning, it was not about things I am grateful for. I have written several such posts over the years however and will again. I have a better challenge, try reading my post again and pay attention to the positive parts which also show gratefulness in them without saying the word. I began with happiness and ended with thanksgiving and happiness. There was happy thoughts in between too, just look, without being critical.
Thanks for your comment though, always nice to see you here!ππΊπββ

Wow, Steve. I didn’t intend to upset you in any way. It was just an observation.
My apologies for any confusion.
