For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning to everyone on this beautiful, sunshiny Thursday! There are a few wispy thin clouds around but they are not stopping the sun from shining. There are gulls flying around below my window. It looks so nice watching them from above. Then there are some gulls flying so high that I was not sure at first what they were, until I got my binoculars out and yes, they are gulls.
They certainly do soar high at times. I think sometimes they just like to follow those air currents to new heights, just for the fun. There are a couple of blue jays calling to one another as I type. Robins are singing cheerfully too. Actually, those robins have been singing since about 5am, perhaps earlier, but I was sleeping earlier so I do not know for sure.

Another picture of an American Robin.
The forecast high for today is 63F (17C), our warmest day in a while. But, alas, it will not last, cloudy and rainy weather moves in tomorrow and the temperature drops along with it. However, that is part of spring, temps can sometimes swing wildly between warm and cold, just from one day to the next. No matter what the temp does now, spring is here to stay, with perhaps a minor interruption now and then.
Muffin was certainly energetic this morning! She was really flying around here chasing her toys as I tossed them for her. Finally she suddenly stopped and that ended the play time. It was nice to see her playing so much though. She is now enjoying her morning nap, curled up with me on the recliner.

Just had to include another photo of a Fox Sparrow, my favorite sparrow species.
Hmm, those wispy clouds out there appear to be getting a little thicker, though still not blocking the sun completely. It does give the sun a slightly diffused look though. Maybe that is not quite the word for it, but it is easy to tell that the sun is not quite shining brilliantly like it would with just blue sky. However, I am not going to complain, it is still a beautiful spring day.
Oh, there are those tree swallows flying around again. They actually showed up on Tuesday. There was quite a few of them that seemed to arrive together, and now there only seems to be one pair of them. I guess the others spread out to their own territories, getting ready for another season of raising their little ones.

Another of my favorites is the Dark-eyed Junco.
Back in my teens my family lived in the country by a small lake and I made bird houses for tree swallows, and other birds too. I was able to attract 5 pairs of tree swallows to our 5 acre property. They were fun to have around. Well, I hope you all have a wonderful day and God bless!
