For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Hi everyone and Happy Saturday! I think perhaps I hit writer’s block this morning for some reason. It didn’t hurt though. Maybe I didn’t hit it hard enough. Anyway, I decided to do something else instead, which would require less writing and maybe make it more interesting for you. I have done a couple of posts about Country Pleasures already and this is something similar. Just a few of the things that I really enjoy.

Like a summer sunrise for example. There is just something about a summer sunrise that is so beautiful. I used to enjoy driving out to one of the smaller lakes around here to enjoy that summer sunrise and all that goes with it.

I also enjoy the calm waters of a lake in the early morning. It is just so relaxing and yet invigorating at the same time.

And sitting down by the river in the morning is something else that is so relaxing, allowing any stress to just float away down the river. Then you are left with all that beautiful scenery and solitude that is just amazing.

Another thing that I truly enjoy is watching a mother duck with her babies swimming slowly past on the river in front of me. The mother is looking for food in this picture as she swims past.

I also enjoy meeting some other forest friends too, such as this groundhog that came walking along and suddenly stopping when he saw me sitting on the grass. He obviously did not know I was sitting there until he came up the hill and there I was, just 4 feet (a bit more than 1 meter) from him. He just stood there for a moment, not knowing what to do. Then he turned and ran off around me, heading off to his underground home which was not too far away.

I enjoy walking along a secluded forest path, like the one to the river. It is just beautiful all along that path, with so much to see and enjoy along the way.

Also spending time with little Scramble, a Red Squirrel, as we were sitting together on a hot summer afternoon. Well, he was lying down, I was sitting on a rock. Well, this is just a few of the things that I enjoy and I will probably do another list soon. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and God bless!

Extra pictures of nature are good at filling the holes that writer’s block leaves behind. š
