For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning everyone! It is cloudy today and we are supposed to get quite a bit of rain and perhaps some thunderstorms as well. It appears to be raining quite heavily down over the lake right now. Muffin won’t be very happy if there is some thunder. Hmm, it has started to rain. That means I need to close my window. Mainly because the rain is hitting against that window due to the south wind.
It smells so nice with that fresh rain though. However, it is getting wet in here. There, that is done and a fresh cup of coffee is sitting on the table beside me. Soooo nice. At least I can still keep my door open to the balcony and get that nice fresh air coming in through there. The rain doesn’t get at the door. So, I can still enjoy that wonderful freshness from outside.

I am sure glad that I was able to get pics of those flowering trees the other day. Right after that we got such strong wind and then rain, so there was not much left after that. Even the lilacs which were just getting started with blooming last week are nearly done now. Most are still in full bloom, some are dying off already. This rain today will likely finish most of them.

No more photo opportunities with them. Oh well. There will be other flowers. I was up a bit early this morning, just before 4am., just a tad too early, even for me. But I did get to bed quite early last night, right around 8:30pm. Kind of early, but I was tired. So I managed to get a lot of sleep. Speaking of sleeping. Muffin decided to join me on the chair and she is curled up sleeping beside me.
Something was after the robin’s nest across the street this morning. I don’t know exactly where the nest is located, but it’s somewhere behind the house. They were sure making a lot of noise. Some grackles came over to help them too. Seems like it was a crow that stirred up all that trouble. I’m not sure if the crow actually got the nest or not, but I don’t think it was successful.

Hmm, looks like more rain is coming. Some loud thunder with this one too. Well, I seem to be rambling again today. I hope you have a great day and God bless!

I hope the rain helps with the forest the fires

Yes indeed, we have had so much rain this spring that everything is quite soggy and no fires to worry about. There were a number of fires earlier this spring but the rain has drowned them all now, so that is great!

Yes indeed, it’s too bad that strong wind came along for the next 2 days and blew them all off!
