For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Hi everyone! It is such a beautiful morning here, the sun is shining so nicely, though I see that some clouds are moving in now, just like the forecast said would happen. It has also gotten very windy as well. But still, it is beautiful out there. Maybe I should change that just a teeny bit. That wind is very strong out there now and is really tossing those trees around.
It was windy like this yesterday too, except the wind was from a different direction. Yesterday was our warmest day so far too. It was about 82F (28C). Personally I consider it hot when the temperature goes about 86F (30C). That is how warm it was in my apartment by yesterday afternoon.

Looking across the lake from our picnic table.
Still not as bad as my last apartment. I always dream of being by a lake when it is warm and sunny. That’s where my last place was so nice, it was close to the river and I could walk down there any time. It was especially nice on hot, sunny days. Maybe not quite like being beside a lake, but still nice anyway.
As you may remember, my friend and I went to some nice lakes a couple of weeks ago. There is one lake that has a nice roadside picnic area and we stopped there and had some coffee. Several other people had also stopped at that location. There are picnic tables around the area, and washrooms.

Another look at the lake.
It really is a beautiful, small lake, a great place for a canoe since even on a windy day there are no big waves to worry about. There are many different varieties of trees in this small area, mostly Jack Pine, but some White Spruce, Aspen, Birch, Balsam and shrubs like Pincherry and Saskatoon. So, it is a wonderful spot to sit and relax for a while.
Usually there are loons on this lake, but I didn’t see any this year and that is the first time not seeing loons there. The lake is full of rainbow and brook trout, having been deliberately stocked with them back in the 1970s. Well, it has become completely cloudy now which makes it feel a bit cooler with that strong wind.

Along the shore.
There is also billows of smoke rising from just beyond that far hill, directly south of here. I hope that smoke is not from a forest fire. With such a strong wind, a forest fire would move along through those trees rather fast, even with all the rain we have had. Well, I hope you all have a wonderful day and God bless!
