For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning everyone! It is a beautiful sunny day here so far, though there are a few fluffy clouds starting to appear now. I was awake at 1:30am due to some very loud people walking by, and since my windows are open all the time now, I hear these noises very clearly. But I also heard an American Robin singing beautifully too. I woke up again at 3:30am due to Muffin wanting some breakfast.
I also heard that robin singing. Sometimes I wonder if these birds keep singing all night long. They are a member of the thrush family and other thrushes sing all night, so I guess it makes sense that robins would too. I fed Muffin and just kind of stood there leaning on the counter. Why I did not go right back to bed, I do not know.

Instead I stood there listening to the robin singing and realizing that it will be daylight soon. Actually, daylight was starting to show up already. I turn the light off and looked out the living room window. Yep, it was definitely getting daylight out there. I am wide awake now and wondering if I should even go back to bed. After all, the day is awake, Muffin is awake, the birds are awake (I can hear several different species singing now), and I am awake. Sigh.
It is a bit early. If it was 4 or 4:30am, that would be a lot better. It is 3:45am. I could go back to bed, but what is the point? All I’m going to do is sleep. And I probably won’t sleep since I am now wide awake. And Muffin wants to play. I suggest sitting on the balcony and listen to the morning wake up. She runs to the door, looking back at me. She liked my idea obviously.

Another look at the female Herring Gull and her 3 chicks, a photo I have wanted to get since I began photography in 2018.
But I need some coffee first. That is better. Sitting on the balcony watching the morning wake up, coffee in hand, Muffin lying down listening, and sniffing the morning air. I must admit, Muffin had a good idea. Otherwise, what would I be doing? Sleeping. Which is a good idea too. But this is nice once in a while. At one time I would do this every day during June and July.
Unless it was raining. It is a rather cool morning though at only 54F (12C). But it is beautiful, and we have not had many mornings like this when the sky is clear. Usually it is cloudy and sometimes with showers. So it is nice getting a morning like this with the sun rising so brilliantly.

I really need to cut a hole in that security netting so I can take pictures from my balcony. I probably won’t. But it would be nice. Sigh. Oh well, the day continues. Have a wonderful day everyone and God bless!

That’s the problem with being in a more urban area now
