For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Back in town, the police had gone to their office and picked up more guns, since Kat and her Wildcats had relieved them of their guns at the house. They also picked up shotguns to use because most of the men in the Knight Riders are big, very big, unlike the police officers, though 2 of them were a bit bigger than the average person. But that still didn’t match the Knight Riders. They saw that the motorcycles were still parked in front of the restaurant so they walked over right away, shotguns ready and 5 of them went into the restaurant first.
But the Riders were nowhere to be seen. So they went back outside. Once out there they saw Matt and 4 others standing on the street, and they had big guns of their own. Then the rest of the Riders began to show up, including 5 from inside the restaurant who were now right behind the Chief and the men that went in with him before. “Drop your guns, or die with them!” called Matt to the cops. “I have a shotgun at your back Chief,” said Rock, “it will make a nice big hole in you, so be smart and drop your weapons.”
The Chief then told his men to drop all weapons on the ground and move away from them. The biggest of the Riders then had some fun breaking the shotguns and bending the barrels of them. “Since there are 10 of you Chief,” said Matt, “we will just use 10 of us and we’ll have a little fight.” That would have been quite a fight to see! Matt and the 4 with him just stayed out of it and watched. The 10 biggest Riders did the fighting, which didn’t last too long.
“Now Chief,” said Matt when it was all over, “either you stay within the law and arrest Harder for murder, or be prepared to fight for your life next time. Because next time we won’t be so nice.” Once the fight was over, Matt and his Riders went back to their hotel. Matt stopped at the front desk and asked if anyone had gone into their rooms while they were out. “No, no one at all,” said the man, obviously very nervous. “Thanks,” said Matt and he gave the man a tip.
All their rooms were on the 4th floor, so up they went. All except Mac who stayed next to the front desk, but just out of sight of the man working there. The man picked up the phone after the elevator doors closed, but that is when Mac showed himself, with his knife out. “Put it down,” said Mac, “and come out here.” The man did so and sat down on one of the lobby chairs beside Mac. He was even more nervous now. Mac called Matt and told him to expect a surprise.
Matt spread the word and the Knight Riders quickly opened their doors and rushed into their rooms, catching men in each room that were looking around. The men took out their guns but the Knight Riders got every one of them, except one that Matt kept alive. He wanted him to send a message back to Harder. Back in the lobby. “We will need new rooms, clean ones,” said Mac. “I, I don’t know if I can…” said the man, until Mac had his knife close to the man’s throat.
“Yes, for sure, new clean rooms,” he said smiling, “I will do that for you!” “Thank you,” said Mac. Meanwhile, back to us. Sigrid confirmed that the dead woman was her sister Jazzy. Since we needed her body as evidence I called a helicopter to come take the body back to our clinic. I also had Muffin call Tiger so we could get some help lifting that casket out of the basement and load it onto the chopper.
Shortly after taking off we heard a noise and spotted something flying toward the helicopter, but it was too late to warn the pilot and the rocket hit the chopper causing it to explode and come crashing to the ground. What was left of it anyway. The pilot and co-pilot died. Harder wanted to make sure there was no evidence. But this seemed too sophisticated for Harder, or even for Trapper. Montana must have come to town now.
That means she brought more men with her too, and that means more danger for us. “You will have to be more cautious now Matt,” I told him. “Yep, we will keep our eyes and ears open from now on,” he said, “Montana’s men will likely be better trained than Harder’s men. But that doesn’t mean they will be better. We just need to make sure we stay ahead of them.” “And tomorrow we start applying more pressure to Harder and Trapper,” I said, “no more playing nice, we have to get a little rough.”
Matt and the 4 Knight Riders he brought with him then went back to town. “I wish that I had not involved you in this Steve,” said Sigrid, “more of your friends might get killed because of me.” “No, not because of you,” I said, “but because of Harder and Montana. Every case we take runs the risk of some getting killed. We never like to lose anyone, but it does happen at times. We can’t say no to helping people because we might get killed.
We do the best we can to make sure everyone is well protected. We want to stop people like Harder and Montana because they hurt so many innocent people, including children.” She smiled and gave me a big hug. “I think I might like having an older brother,” she said. “Good,” I replied, “I’m going to like having another younger sister.” Then I groaned and called to Beryan. Sigrid and Jennifer helped me to my room and Beryan started massaging my back right away.
Samantha then showed up and asked if I needed some pain medication. I said yes. Sigrid asked Jennifer what was wrong with me, so she told her about my being shot in the back twice, close to my spine, so it often causes a lot of pain for me. Just then Sky came out of the bathroom and Sigrid’s eyes got big. “Sky, meet Sigrid,” I said, “Sigrid, meet my wife Sky.” “But, but that is impossible!” said Sigrid. Sky turned around.
She was wearing the same shirt as when she got shot in the heart, still stained with blood. “We have a new ghost with us now,” said Jennifer to Sigrid, “remember how we tried to tell you that Kat and I are ghosts? Now Sky will be another ghost.” When the helicopter had come to pick up the casket with Jazzy, it also brought some new members of our team. Angel came and so did Crystal. Sigrid did not know about Crystal, or Angel, being twins of Sky.
Then Sky came walking out of the bathroom a second time, wearing the same clothes as the first Sky. “This is Crystal and Angel,” I said, “they are twins of my wife Sky, or I guess I should say they are triplets, sort of. They are actually cousins but can easily pass for triplets. Now we start to have some real fun with Harder and Trapper.” Later Kat and Jennifer went into the bathroom and came out looking like the twins they are.
“These two really are twins,” I said to Sigrid, “now, with Montana in town I imagine that Harder and friends will be having dinner at that restaurant, so Miss Kat and Miss Kat will stop in and visit with them, and so will Sky and Sky. Just wish I could see that one.” “Don’t worry my dear husband,” said Kat and Kat together, “we will tell you all about it.” “So will we, husband dear,” said Sky and Sky together. “I am getting confused,” said Sigrid. “I will explain it all to you after they leave,” I said. “That would be nice,” she replied smiling…

It did not go well due to the pilot and copilots death. Montana is cruet. The Ryders are having fun messing with Trapper and Harder. The new team members are going have fun.

Yes, this was something we did not expect. Montana is a dangerous woman, I think she will be like Toledo. We are going to have ghosts aplenty. Our new research shows that Montana is quite superstitious and Harder is terrified of ghosts. We have 3 but we will play with 4. We will also give Trapper a chance to get away if he wants it. But will he accept?π€π©πΎπ΅οΈββοΈ

Montana needs to be ghosted! The ghosts will have fun. Hard to tell about Trapper because he is not smart.

Yes, and she certainly got her first taste of our ghosts in last night’s chapter! And they are not going to quit. Montana also found out her men are no match for our ghosts! Even our new Sky ghosts got in some fun too! But will Montana run now, or will she hit back? We need to be careful. Well, Kat and Kat gave Trapper his chance to leave, we will see if he listens to them or not.π€π©πΎπ΅οΈββοΈ

Montana will hit bad because she doesnβt scare easily. She has a strong desire to conquer others.

Yes, she wants something and won’t quit until she gets it.

I think that was a poor choice of words, Steve… about loading the casket onto the chopper, I knew you meant helicopter but i read it like the chopper was some type of industrial machine that chops things.
Had a very graphic vision for a moment there. Not sure if that shows some concern about my thought process though π€

That’s a good point Ami, thanks for pointing that out for me. Chopper is a common word used for helicopters here in Canada, which is why I use it at times in my stories. But since most of my readers are outside of Canada I need to try and remember that others may not understand what I’m saying. Thank you so much for the comment Ami! Glad you are enjoying the stories. Some interesting things coming up!π€π©πΌπ»π΅οΈββοΈ
