For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Hi everyone! I’m back again after basically taking some time off from my blogging, although I did keep a couple of posts going for the most part. I had some technical problems to deal with and sometimes that needs to be first. When I say “technical problems”, that is referring to me, not my laptop. My back has been terrible the last couple of weeks so it has been a bit hard to keep up with things.
Fall is really beginning to show itself now, so many trees that have turned yellow or gold, so many leaves that have fallen in yards and gathering along the curbs of streets. Flowers in gardens are dying off in large numbers now. A friend took me out this morning to get some photos of flowers, and originally some other things too.

Our orange moon due to smoke in the air from forest fires.
However, the “other things” had to be postponed for another day as my back gave out much too quickly this morning. But about 75% of the flowers have died now so the gardens in the parks are not looking very nice anymore. However, I managed to get some nice photos of different flowers which I will be showing over the fall and winter on my Sunday Sunshine post. We have had a lot of smoke lately from forest fires.

Here it is again a bit later in the evening.
These fires are really getting bad again across western Canada and in an area north of us and still in our province. So, the sun has been very subdued and very orange when it does manage to show itself. It can offer a rather eerie glow at times. Even the moon at night was shining with a beautiful orange color. I took some photos of it out my window, but unfortunately photos taken through this window are never truly clear.
The orange color shows nicely though and I will post a couple of photos for you. The weather continues to be quite warm, some people would even consider it hot still. It was about 80F (26C) yesterday and today should be about the same, perhaps even a bit warmer. The nights, because they are longer now, still get fairly cool so it is easy to keep my apartment from getting too hot.

Looking out across a bay of our lake this morning, Sept. 13.
Today it is very windy, so I am getting a nice breeze blowing through the apartment. Of course, it does keep blowing things off my desk as well. Minor detail. Most of our summer birds have headed south already and by the end of the month there won’t be many left. Kind of sad really, it seems like they just arrived a short time ago and now they are gone.

That smoke haze continues to linger.
Summers are so short. But they are so beautiful too. Well, time to go and wash my floors. Have a great weekend everyone and God bless!
