For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Hi again everyone! It is another nice, sunny day, although there is a bit of a haze which is blocking the sun somewhat. Not too badly though. The wind is continuing very strong and there is quite a difference in the scenery looking out my living room window. Just two days ago the colors were so nice out there. Now, most of the leaves have been blown off the trees, so it is really starting to look like late fall now.
That time of year between the peak colors of fall and winter. When the trees are bare of their leaves and the whole landscape looks barren. And the leaves cover the ground, which I think looks very nice. Though people who have to rake up those leaves are not generally too happy about it. But it does look nice. One of the things I really enjoyed yesterday was when there was a large bunch of leaves blowing off the trees and swirling all around me.

Further down the river from where I normally sit. Much of that rocky shore on that island is normally under water.
That was just so beautiful. I tried a few times to get photos of that, but it was very difficult. The leaves that are swirling and dancing through the air just don’t show up very well. I should have been set up in one place for a while waiting for it to happen. Then I could have done it. But I didn’t stay in one place for very long. But that’s okay. I still enjoyed it.

Part of another island on the left.
Getting out in the fresh air and away from town for a little while was very nice indeed. Unfortunately my back gave out and started paining too much, so I had to return home. There were a few more places I wanted to check. Oh well, minor detail. It was such a wonderful time. I have been thinking lately of my walks down to the river. I do miss those walks.
Although this time of year the bears are out more so it is best not to walk there alone. But it was nice when I did it. A beautiful walk every season of the year. It was like being away from town while still being in town. Speaking of the river. It is very low right now, but it has been a fairly dry fall, except for a few rainy times.

Looking further downstream of the river. The featured image at the very top is part of our lake, not the river.
But a little further south of us it has been more dry than here, so they have the dam closed off more right now to keep the lake level higher for the winter. That means the river is low. It would be interesting to see the area where I normally go and sit. I will try to walk down there a few times this winter. I hope you all have a great day and God bless!

Fresh air can be very invigorating, so can being chased by a bear 🐻

Have you seen northern lights? A pic or two of them would be nice for those of us too far south.😉
And, phooey, I was busy on my computer and completely forgot about the comet! Maybe tomorrow there will be one last chance.🤠

Every time the northern lights are supposed to be at their peak, it is cloudy. Otherwise the town lights are too bright. Really need to be out of town to get a good picture, but I’m unable to do that. So, I have no photos. The apartment building next door blocked the comet for me, and again, I should have been out of town. I am right in the middle of our downtown section here, so way too many lights.🤔📷

A friend who lives in Nicholasville is taking some comet pics tonight for us if he can manipulate his iPhone and binoculars. We have a couple big trees obscuring our southwest view… and I’m going to bed.😴
His son actually caught a couple pics of mild northern lights even thus far south that he’s going to send to me.🤠

Yes, those northern lights have been going a long way south due to those big storms really making them flash nicely. More will come I’m sure.😊
