End of the Year. #2

Greetings everyone! Well, we have a nice, cloudy day here once more. It is also very foggy, but still quite mild with a temperature of 26F (-3C). But colder weather is on the way and it will start to cool off tonight. That means a lot more ice. Even when I went out this morning it was very icy everywhere and very lumpy, bumpy type ice in many places which makes it even harder to walk.

Oh well, it is winter, and winter means treacherous walking a driving conditions much of the time. But it’s only treacherous part of the time. The other part of the time it is only bad. Much like my sentence structure. Which usually has no structure to it at all. But that is just how I write. Oh well, minor details. I was planning to take down my Christmas decorations yesterday. It didn’t happen.

This is Benson, a Boreal Chickadee.

Maybe I will do it this afternoon. Or not. I started sorting through my photos again instead. That is taking a long time. There are about 105,000 photos to sort still. It takes a while. At least for me. Oh well, minor details. A few days ago I shared some photos of Black-Capped Chickadees sitting on my hand looking for food.

This is still Benson.

Today I am showing their country cousin, the Boreal Chickadee. These chickadees don’t come to feeders as often as the Black-Capped Chickadee. And it is harder to get them to land on your hand. Two winters ago I had 3 of the Boreal Chickadees coming to my feeder and all three came to my hand to get pieces of peanuts.

Here he finally picked his peanut piece.

Oddly, they don’t eat sunflower seeds like their Black-Capped cousins love to eat. But they did love peanuts. It seems that most birds love peanuts. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the photos today. Have a great Sunday and God bless!
