Coffee Time! #4

Greetings everyone! It’s time for a cup of coffee and a short chat with all of my blogging friends. I was absent yesterday because Muffin and I were celebrating her birthday! She is now 15 years old and still quite lively. At times anyway. Usually at night. And she wants me to get up and join her, something that does not really excite me. I prefer sleeping at night.

Muffin prefers sleeping during the day, especially if it is sunny. She just doesn’t understand why I want to sleep at night all the time. Sometimes she will come right up to my ear and meow loudly to wake me up. That does work. Not sure how she figured that one out. If I happen to be lying on my back she will jump right onto my stomach! Then she meows and runs away, with me close behind.

Well, somewhat close. Okay, I’m behind her. But she does have a head start after all. I usually start by hitting my head on the bedside table, well, bookcase really. Next, as I stagger out the bedroom door I first kick the dresser. That makes me jump on one foot out the bedroom door. Anyway, by the time I get out there to play Muffin doesn’t want to play. I took too long.

So I feed her, which makes her happy anyway, then I go back to bed. She follows a bit later and is asleep in about 3 minutes. An hour later I am still awake. With a sore head and a sore toe. I finally look at the clock. Just what I dreaded, it’s 2 hours later and time to get up. Why did I go back to bed? I should have just stayed up and done something constructive.

Like sitting on my recliner and enjoying a nap. Sigh. This is a true story by the way. Not every night is like this. But it does happen now and then. That’s okay. I love having her around. She is a real blessing. It is cloudy again today and we did have a bit of light snow earlier.

It was also quite windy during the night, but now there doesn’t seem to be much wind at all. That part is nice, wind always makes it feel so much colder than it is. The temperature right now is 16F (-9C), so it is mild which is nice. Hmm, looks like it is time for another cup of coffee. I hope you all have a wonderful day and God bless!
