For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Hi everyone and Happy Sunday! We have had a big change in our weather here. Before it was hot and extremely dry with huge forest fires. Well, okay, there still is forest fires a bit further north than us. But in this area we have been getting quite a lot of rain.
Today we have severe thunderstorms, one made it almost as dark as night right at noon. Plus there are tornado warnings out for our area too. Not a great thought living at the top of an apartment building.

Apple blossoms from spring.
There have been at least 8 tornadoes to the west of us already from this storm system. I pray we don’t see any right here in our town though. However, on a brighter note, I have a couple more beautiful flower photos to share with you.

Lilac blossoms from spring also.
These are from shrubs, or trees, so not quite typical flowers, but so beautiful anyway. Have a great day everyone and God bless!

WhatβοΈ No pics of the storms??π€ That midday blackout mustβve looked reallly cool!
Used to live in βtornado alleyβ in eastern Kansas. Since then, tornados seem to be everywhere these days, in the Mideast, Europe, Canada and Australia! Best to keep a radio or tv on if you donβt have sirens in your area, so you and Muffin can move to safety if you need!!

I really was hoping for some pics. This was only the second time I remember it getting so dark at midday and the lightning was fabulous. But I was on my way home from church and by the time I got home the rain was coming down so hard and hitting against the windows that there was no way to get pics. I was really hoping for lightning pics against that dark sky, it would have been amazing
We have always had tornadoes up this way, though mostly on the prairies, but we get them too, sometimes half a dozen per year, not much like other places. Because of our small population up here they seldom do much damage, mostly they hit forested areas, knocking down large swaths of trees. We don’t have sirens up this way, I keep saying I should get a radio, something I haven’t had in over 20 years. It needs to be battery operated too since our hydro goes off so often in these storms. Thanks c.a.!
