For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Hi everyone! What a change in the weather we have had this month. It began hot and dry and has ended cool and wet. We did need that rain though to slow down the forest fires, and it has done that, which is a good thing. There are still 23 forest fires burning in our part of the province, about half are still out of control.
We have had some large thunderstorms and tornado warnings, but no tornadoes have been reported in our area. I’m certainly glad about that. Today was supposed to be sunny until late this afternoon. It has been cloudy all day. Last night we had another big thunderstorm with very heavy rain. Everything is staying nice and green at least.

Golden Northern Bumble Bee (bombus borealis)
And all this rain will mean a good crop of wild berries which will keep the bears nice and happy. It does make it a bit difficult to get out for photo trips though. I was hoping to get out this week, but the weather, and some other things, have not been favorable for that.
But, perhaps next week instead. I was hoping to get out once a month to certain areas in order to catch wildflowers and insects that come out during those times. And most of those things I won’t find around the neighborhood here. To be honest, there really isn’t much activity around the neighborhood this summer.

Enjoying the nectar.
That includes insects and wildflowers. Oh well, hopefully that will change if the weather gets a bit nicer again. Today I will share a couple of my favorite bumble bee photos. Thanks for taking a look, have a great day and God bless!
