Aari and the Black Wolves had quite the encounter with Jacques and his gang. Jacques lost 10 men in that fight and the others were arrested, though Jacques’ lawyer got them out of jail quickly enough. Then Jacques went to his meeting with someone named Geffrey. I asked Cristy to look up this man for us. “According to the rules,” said Cristy, “you’re not allowed to give orders while in the clinic, only Leader 1 can do that, and you’re not Leader 1 right now.”

“Atta girl Cristy,” said Misty laughing. “Cristy?” I asked. “Yes Steve?” she asked in return. “How would you like 30 days of inactive duty?” I asked her. “I’m on it Steve!” she exclaimed, “I was just joking before. You know, like ha ha.” “I knew you were Cristy,” I said, “and thank you. By the way, doesn’t your break begin in 5 minutes?”

“Yep, sure does,” she said, “might have to work through my break today though.” “If she does that,” I said to Misty, “she will get 10 demerits.” “But you’re not Leader 1 right now,” said Misty, “you can’t give demerits.” “You can though,” I said. “What?” she exclaimed, “Give my sister demerits? Never!” “If she doesn’t take her break,” I said, “we don’t get any donuts today.” Misty looked at me blinking like she does.

“If she doesn’t show up with donuts,” said Misty, “she will get 20 demerits!” “Atta girl Misty,” I said. A couple minutes later our door opens slightly. “It’s safe,” I said. Cristy zipped inside and locked the door. “I was smart today,” she said, “I wrapped them in a towel and slipped them into my bag so no one would notice. And, I got a whole dozen today!” Both Misty and I said “YES” at the same time.

“That’s 4 each today,” said Misty. “Atta girl Cristy,” I said, munching on my first donut. We just managed to finish our donuts when Akila knocked on the door, so Cristy let her in, then she went back to work. “Cynthia and I have been working overtime on that laptop and phone,” said Akila, “there is a lot on there too, especially the laptop. No wonder he wanted it back! He killed that government official, his mother and Clarisse, but he hired someone else to kill his brother.

He also killed 2 business people in Paris and the police still haven’t found out who did it. He brags about it on the laptop about how he outsmarted the police. There was also a young woman he had hired, but she wouldn’t do any of the “extra activities” he wanted from her, so he stabbed her too and left her in her flat. He hired someone to kill 3 other people, a person named Hunter Wilson.

He wanted you for a kind of ransom Steve, to make us do some things for him. Like kidnapping the families of 3 new officials for the police service in Paris, to make them resign so that the second pick people will get the jobs. All three of those are willing to be on Jacques’ payroll, which would give Jacques a free hand to do whatever he wants basically.

Then he wanted us to divert a shipment of small arms to him for outfitting his new “army”. Now that he has the money, he will hire an army of mercenaries to work for him, but he needs weapons for them. There is also a huge shipment of drugs coming soon, landing in Denmark, which he also wanted us to divert to him.” “My, we certainly would have been busy,” I said, “I’m getting tired just thinking about it.”

Then Jennifer walked in the room, right through the door. “I brought you each a donut,” she said smiling. “Donuts!” we both exclaimed together. “Oh, Misty,” she said, “just a reminder that since you are in the clinic, then the Leader 1 position falls back on me again.” “What? I can’t give orders anymore?” she asked. “That’s right, sorry,” said Jennifer. “That’s okay,” said Misty, “I’ll still enjoy donuts, providing people bring them to us.”

“I’m sure Cristy will keep you two well supplied,” said Jennifer, “that’s why I only brought two.” “Hey, I have been thinking,” said Misty. “No,” I said. “You didn’t hear my idea yet,” she said, folding her arms. “Yes, that wasn’t very nice,” said Jennifer. “You do that all the time to me,” I reminded her. “That’s different,” she said, “your ideas always cause problems.” Akila began to giggle a little, then she burst out laughing. “It wasn’t that funny,” I said. She was still laughing and couldn’t answer me. Sigh.

“Anyway,” said Misty, “I was thinking, Pierre #2 is still in Paris, right? Right. I doubt he would be excited about Jacques’ plans to take over everything. And right now Pierre #2 is likely stronger than Jacques. Sooo, why don’t we get Pierre #2 to take care of Jacques for us while Jacques is still weak. Who knows, maybe both gangs will take care of each other. Even if they don’t, it’s probably better to have Pierre #2 than to have Jacques around.” She smiled at me.

I looked at her, blinking the way she does, or so I thought. “No, that’s not it,” she said to me, “you need bigger blinks for it to work.” Hmm, anyway, her idea did kind of make sense. Why risk some of our people when we can use another gang to do the work. I relayed this message to Carine, who told it to Aari. He liked the idea, but how do we get the message to Pierre #2?

That was a good question and I have just the answer to it. Trapper. With Kat and her Wildcats to look after him so he doesn’t get killed. I also asked Aari if the money from Jacques had come through or not. He said it was all there. That was quite amazing really, I wasn’t so sure he would part with that much money. We will turn it over to the police later.

Pierre #2 and 4 of his men were having lunch at a restaurant and Trapper came along and sat down on an empty chair. “Trapper,” said Pierre, “you are either a very brave man, or very stupid, which is it?” “I have some information you will want to hear,” said Trapper casually. Just then Kat and her Wildcats made their usual grand entrance, with Kat stopping next to Trapper.

“Well, hi Mr. Trapper!” said Kat in her little girl voice, “I haven’t seen you around for a long time. Did ya miss me?” “I always miss you, Miss Kat,” he said, “you go sit down and I will come over and visit with you right after I talk with these gentlemen, okay?” “Hmm, they don’t look like gentlemen to me Mr. Trapper,” said Kat, “but we’ll just be over there if you need some help.” She then left and sat down with the other girls. “A girlfriend of yours?” asked Pierre.

Trapper then filled them in about the girls. “Just the kind of girls we could use in our business,” said another man to Pierre. “You wouldn’t be able to handle those girls,” said Trapper, “they would turn you inside out.” Then he told Pierre about Jacques and his plans and that now would be a good time to put him out of business for ever, otherwise he would end up putting Pierre out of business…

  1. Donuts sure make the world of the Investigators. People love them and are always taking them from others who think they will enjoy a donut. 😊

    Akila was finding many important things about Jacques on the laptop. Having Pierre #2 go after Jacques is genius but there are sure to be problems with the plan. Trapper is perfect for talking with Pierre. Kat and the Wildcats get to shine. But there are sure to be unanticipated problems! Jacques really came through with the money. What else will he do?

    • Donuts are definitely important with us Investigators and it’s necessary to move fast and hide if you want some!

      Akila is getting some great information, it’s amazing that Jacques would keep notes of things like this. He must have been proud of his work and figured he couldn’t be touched. Trapper knows how to talk with guys like Pierre #2, he came from that kind of background. Kat and the Wildcats are perfect protection for Trapper too. Yep, Jacques actually paid the money, I didn’t think he would, but I guess he wanted the Black Wolves off his back. Our plan could still backfire, but we will watch things closely. 🤔👩😼👻🦁🕵️‍♂️

    • Hi Dusty, I’m back. It has been quite a day! Had to take Muffin to the vet today, that wasn’t fun. She’s home again, but hiding, not sure how this is going to work. She has medicine to take, yeah right, each day. Hopefully this works or she goes in for surgery in a couple weeks. I doubt I will be able to get her back inside her carrier though.😬😾🙀

  3. I hope it’s nothing terribly serious…😟 But, she does need to take her medicine 💊. I know she won’t like me for saying that, but it’s for her benefit 😊

    • Yeah, but trying to get her to take it will not be easy. She has a couple cysts on her neck that have gotten infected because she has been scratching them. I didn’t even notice them until this morning when I saw her fur covered with blood. So I cut away some fur to see better and yuck, it was awful.
      Oh, the smoke is worse today than yesterday.

  4. Yeah, those things are a bummer to deal with. Hopefully you can get her to keep them down. The smoke here yesterday was absolutely awful 😖 But today is clear again. I hope it stays that way. It was my youngest daughters b-day today. We went for lunch then took a boat ride. Tomorrow my granddaughter is coming to help me install the interior in the Mustang. She wants to learn how to work on cars.

    • Wow, another birthday! See? You need to get another car just so your granddaughter can learn how to fix them up!
      We had one huge storm last evening! Lots of lightning and rain and wind. The whole town lost power for varying amounts of time, so I had to quit and just went to bed.

  5. There’s still plenty to work on with this one, so I’ll just try to keep her attention on this one. Yeah, it rained a little here last night also. As far b-days go… still one to go on the 21st for my oldest daughter. Then it’s on to the holidays.🤪

    • hehehe! Wow, holidays already?! The sky has cleared and the smoke has cleared away too, although it’s supposed to be back tomorrow.
      Not sure why, but I’m not feeling well tonight so I’m signing off and going to bed. Sorry for the early departure. I’ll be back tomorrow!😃

  9. Hi! Yeah I’m here. I’m recovering from the busy day yesterday. 🥵 But the car is ready to get it’s new top installed next Wednesday. The interior looks really nice now.👍

    • Whoohoo! Then you can start cruising the streets and turning heads! You’ll have to send me a pic when it’s all done! Had my doctor’s appointment today. 🤒Severe thunderstorms in the area this evening, so if I suddenly disappear, it’s because we lost power again. They also posted a tornado watch, but not a warning.⛈️☔

  10. Well, as far cruising the streets goes… maybe🤔😂 Naw, they would only turn their heads because of the exhaust system. It’s really LOUD! But that will get fixed after the 1st of the year. How did your appt go? Was it it to review your pain meds?

    • It was a review of all my meds. I will be getting a couple new ones, another one will be doubled and my Tylenol 3 might be a problem. Apparently there is a shortage of it in Canada right now so pharmacies are not able to get it, and mine needs to be refilled next Friday. Wish I could get it tomorrow with all the other ones.

    • The shortage is expected to last another 3 or 4 months yet. I might have to be put on something else in the meantime. I should be able to get part of my prescription, enough to bridge the gap switching over to the new one.

  14. Hi, yeah, dodging rain drops and sweating in the sun on the same days. I’ve been trying get my garage organized again after working on the car, and then trying to get a little flying in since it’s been a month since the last time I did fly. Anyway, I lost track of time. I should’ve kept a closer watch on my phone alerts.
    So, how are you? It looked like you got a little rain the last few days. How’s Muffin doing? Is the medicine helping?

    • I’m back again. Oooo, you’re getting some rain. We had some rain last Wednesday, but nothing since then, it has been sunny each day until this afternoon when some clouds moved in. No rain though, but we might get some tomorrow. The infection on Muffin is clearing up, but her eyes tell me she’s not well yet. I hate the thought, but she might need surgery. This past week has not been fun. Some of my test results were not so good so I have two new pills to take. Because of med shortages in our country I only got half my prescription for one pill and may not even get my T3s so will have to get a substitute which means double the number of pills I would need to take for that one. That’s not a big deal though, I don’t mind taking the pills. I will find out Tuesday what happens with that. Muffin’s pills last until next weekend, then back to the doctor for her checkup.🙄🙀 Did you get your garage back in shape now?🤔

  15. Yeah, kind of… I still need to sweep it up and clear out some unused stuff. I’ll do that later this week when the car is getting the new top installed. We had two inches of rain here yesterday, and ugh, it was hot and muggy. Then the sun came out, and it got really bad. Cloudy and windy all day today though.

  16. Yes, it is. Ya know, I really am having a hard time with the politics in this state. The crazies have taken over! The inmates have taken over the insane asylum!🤪 They are ruining the state and way of life I grew up with… Soooo….. SAD 😔

    • Hi Dusty! I don’t know much about your politics down there in your state. I’ll be honest though, the way things are in the US right now is kind of scary. But then, things have gotten scary up here too. It’s hard to know which way we are going.😬🙄

    • Just a normal trip today, the shelves were empty and others were empty. This summer has been bad for that, but it seems to be getting worse which is odd. Usually it gets better this time of the month as summer is winding down and there are much less tourists around. Oh well, I have to go out again Wednesday to get my T3s, so I will see if I can get some things missed today. Oh, I’m back again!😃😂

  18. Well… almost.🤔 But no. I’ve just been busy this last few days with the ladt b-day of this year, and starting to organize some items that I need to take with when I head south in early October. I’m gonna need to go back to work so I can take a vacation from retiring.🥵 All this extra time I have is keeping very busy! How about you? What hve you been up to? It’s almost time for the quilts to come out of the closet! There’ll be frost on the pumpkin pretty soon!🫣🤫

    • Yep, it’s amazing how all that free time you get after retirement gets filled up quickly. It has gotten cool, only 60 today, cloudy and a strong north wind. We had quite a bit of rain this week too and the fires up north are finally getting some rain too, and colder, so that should slow them down. I did bring out a comforter yesterday, the nights are cooling off, down to 46 last night and will be the same tonight and tomorrow night.🥶

  19. It’s crazy how quickly the summer went.
    I had a text message this afternoon asking if I wanted to go to dinner. Then she sent a picture! Apparently, I was supposed to be Joanna.🙄 Funny though, the last she sent me a message she had wanted to know if I knew Jennifer her friend. I think she’s very confused or she needs to get her contacts cleaned up and matched up a little better.🤪

    • Yep, you don’t want to be messing with teens, that’s for sure! Someone put me on a dating site once putting my age considerably younger than me. Must have used a different photo too, and I started getting replies from gals aged 16 to 20!🙄😂

    • Missing just about everything!
      We had our annual old fashioned Tent Meetings today! First time I wore my winter jacket in August, and was still cold sitting there with that wind blowing around me. No walls on this tent, except the one end where the preacher stands.

    • You’re not supposed to agree with me, but hey, I guess what I guess is guess that I guess what I guess. I guess.🙄 They are just about done taking down the rides at the fair. They had a terrible weekend this year, rained out one evening, then two evenings they had to close early due to rain. It was cloudy, cold, with showers on Saturday so hardly any people showed up. All that work for very little return.😕

  31. Hi! Yes, I went flying in the afternoon. But I went to pick up the Mustang from the shop at lunch time. It was a busy day.
    How are things in the chilly north country? I heard it was supposed to be below freezing last night.🥶

    • Not quite that cold, only down to 50 and today back up to 78. Cooling off again tomorrow, then staying that way. But sunshine for the next few days. However, they said that about this week too and we get clouds and showers. Sigh. Went for a drive down the highway yesterday to get some photos. I was surprised how many trees are starting to turn yellow already!🙄🍁🍂🥶

    • I am excitedly doing nothing excitingly exciting today. Nice indeed, it hit 80 today! Going to be a drastic change next week though, with temps dropping out of sight, even cold enough for possible flurries Tuesday night!!

    • Yep, I went this morning and tonight it will be virtual attendance. I try to get out in the morning when I am feeling my best. Had a couple of visitors from MN at church this morning, they have a cottage up here on the lake.
      That’s smart, those squirrels can be quite accurate tossing those acorns around! I am likewise relaxing in my recliner listening to the last sounds of summer (noisy vehicles). Sigh.😎

    • Nope, haven’t baked anything since the last time I baked something. Can’t remember when that was even. Or was it odd? Maybe when that cold weather arrives this week I will get in the mood to bake again. Fall and winter are for baking. Still, I should be losing weight, not gaining.🙄

    • I have tried sharing stuff that I bake but people don’t take it, so I end up taking it back home again. Maybe people just don’t like what I bake? Oh well, I enjoy it anyway. But if you eat fast, you end up burning calories fast so you don’t gain weight.🙄😂

    • Hmm, maybe try doing pushups while you eat. Don’t use a fork, just open your mouth every time you go down and grab whatever you can. One man actually tried that, but on his first pushup he did a face plant into his plate of food.😂🙄

  47. Oh, that wouldn’t be an issue for me… I wouldn’t be able to push myself up far enough to do a face plant!!😂😂 What did you wake me up at 4 am. this morning for? Ugh, I’ve taken a mid-morning nap, but ugh, that was awful.

    • Your nap was probably too long. I find if my nap is longer that half an hour, then I feel awful, like it would have been better not to nap at all. Then it’s hard to get going or doing anything. It’s terrible, it really is terrible.🤪😫
